Baseplate Technical Drawings

I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Sheffield and am currently doing a group project on the removal of ferrules from baseplates. We have to design a tool to remove them faster and more efficiently than the current tool which is used as this can take up to an hour. However to do this we need to get hold of some technical drawings of baseplates which have ferrules in. I have managed to get a little bit of information but was wondering if anybody has access to any of these drawings? It would be very much appreciated!

Do you actually mean ferrules? little tapered wood or polypropylene tubes? Unipart cat number 0057/048415?

To be honest, we've had to base our whole design around the people using it. They generally leave the tool in the van and try to take the ferrules out with other tools so they have less to carry. This is how they take so long to take out!

You need the RE/PW drawings - contact Network Rail HQ direct (my contact has there has retired) as the supply chain is not permitted to distribute them without permission.

The following basplates all use chairscrews and are shown on the corresponding RE/PW drawing:

PAN6-255, PAN8-252, PAN9-254&256, PAN11-287, CCPAN1/44-273, PANVN-710, PANCCVN-845, PANV4N2SG-858, PANV-605, NRS1-1038, NRS2-1116.

Though a pan jack handle is equally good as the correct tool!
