Hi folks.

I'm travelling to London Kings Cross Friday afternoon, where I shall be jumping on the LU circle line to Temple. On Saturday I want to make the reverse journey but to Euston via the Northern Line from Bank.

I am a PRIV card holder, and I am aware of a few cheeky ways to travel on LU an 'any permitted route' national rail ticket from one London NR station in the North to another in the South. I've been trying to find a good combo at the ticket office - but all my attempts thus far have been invalid or unfortunately connected by FCC. Any suggestions please? I really don't want to pay the full £20 for two of us without oyster cards.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and before anyone calls me a lazy get for not getting FCC and walking from Blackfriars - I will have a heavy suitcase!

How about this one:-

Finsbury Park to Battersea Park. Travel via Thameslink to Blackmailers then District or Circle line to Temple (theoretic journey continues to Battersea via Victoria) This may work in the outward direction as you can leave the tube early. You can not resume a tube journey after a break so it will not work on your return.

Yea that seems to work on BR fares. I think i'll opt for Kentish Town -> Battersea Park, then Battersea Park -> Kentish town on the return leg but walk to Embankment to board. Hopefully that'll work. £1.45 per journey!

Be careful. TOCNE cards are not valid for underground travel, so a break of journey could be seen as a misuse of facilities.

They are valid on London Underground using Cross-london tickets though, nothing wrong at all with starting and finishing short!

That, of course, is your opinion. I wouldn't be pushing my luck and risking the entitlements of many others.

The Mem used that priced journey in January to go from Kings Cross - Waterloo (Finsbury Park - Clapham Junction ticket). The tickets worked the gates without problem.

I paid a bit more as i used my Oyster.

Mind on other things? Or autocorrect?

As you'd expect for a journey between two stations on the cross-London transfer list. Can't guarantee such a ticket working at Temple though!
