I reckon the Southampton - Edinburgh service by XC serves the most as there are 39 universities in Oxford...
Is Keele Univesity to Staffordshire University a significant flow?

You must be counting places like Christ Church Oxford which is part of the University of Oxford, so if you are then you're counting the same Universities multiple times.
What's the furthest university campus from a train station then? Keele is about 5 miles from Stoke station, and the University of Cumbria campus in Ambleside is similar from Windermere station - but there must be some which are further?
Each college is a separate university, so therefore as there are 38 colleges and one university, it makes 39.
If they are not separate, how come most of the Prime Ministers who were at college in Oxford will say they were educated at Balliol rather than at Oxford. Also, how come each separate college appears on University Challange when somewhere like Durham has only one entrant?
I consider the same thinking valid for Cambridge also.

University Challenge does give something of an advantage to Cambridge and Oxford Colleges but I've never seen anything to suggest that each college is a separate University. If you can link to something that says they are, do feel free.
You're taking a tongue in cheek comment a bit seriously if I may say so...
that's without counting the Oxford colleges as separate universities

Wrexham has a UNI Glyndwr,served by trains from Chester and Bidston,ATW actually run a Sundays only 2204 ex Chester to Wrexham only due to good student flows. It may not be the biggest Uni in North Wales,but its in the biggest town to warrant the train.

Suspect he means both Keele and Staffordshire Universities liked to Stoke on Trent or Manchester no?

Must be Cranfield surely? Oh wait I forgot the Marston Vale Line.
Or maybe Buckingham.
Probably Lampeter.
That's 137 miles from Thurso.The Lerwick Campus of the University of the Highlands and Islands would take some beating!
Stretching definitions a bit, I note that the British Antarctic Survey has a .ac.uk domain name...
If we're excluding London services, then the Aberdeen-Leeds East Coast services serves:
* Aberdeen
* RGU
* Dundee
* Abertay
* (St Andrews, via Leuchars)
* Edinburgh
* Heriot-Watt
* Napier
* Northumbria
* Newcastle
* Durham
* Teeside (Darlington campus)
* York
* York St John
* Leeds
* Leeds Met
Which is 15 or 16, if you count St Andrews. Or even 17 if you allow the Kirkcaldy Campus of Dundee to be included in its own right.
But as an extension to the Edinburgh-Plymouth posted above, there's a daily Aberdeen-Penzance, which will take in all of the above and more.
