No, not just the Christmas season, but the time for GCSE mocks. I'm starting mine on December 10th, but I did have a French Speaking earlier this week. Anyone else got mocks coming up?

I have my mocks coming up. I have a feeling I will fail maths.

Don't get stressed, just do a bit of revision and make sure you get an early night before any tests.
I used to find that loudish music( not radio) helped me study, trying for a silent room seemed to emphasize any distracting noises from outside.
Be selective about what you memorize.
Don't waste hours memorising impossibly large tables or lists of dates etc parrot style-examiners actually rarely expect this-these will usually only get you a couple of points on odd questions- a good understanding of the various topics within a subject will get you more marks for less effort!
In the test don't waste ages trying to answer anything you are not sure about-move onto another question-you can come back to it later if you have time.
Try and imagine what the examiner is looking for in your answer and keep your answers concise-padding it out just wastes time.
Most of all do not worry. Mocks will show up your weak areas and help you sort them out before the real thing.
Even if you do fail remember- passing exams only proves that you can pass exams! Success or otherwise in life depends on much much more than that.

Just finished a set today. Had GCSE science modules last Thursday (B1a, C1a, P1a) and internall school exams from Monday to Wednesdaay.
Christmas wind down now though! Changed the background on my MP3 plaer to a Xmas' one!

Stressing stuff!
SQA exams feature full marking schemes, asserors reports, markers reports and so on, and are very useful if any Scot reading hasn't dicovered them yet.
I have my prelims (I assume they're the same as mocks?) in January-February 2008. Advanced Higher Chemistry, Biology and Maths 8) Probably going to do not well in Biology, but hopefully an A for Maths. (Wonderful Integration!).

I have my prelims in March as we are moving to a new school so they are being delayed. Higher Admin, Accounts, Health&Food Tech, English and Modern Studies. English is going to be a bit of a hit and a miss i feel! The rest should be fine, if i dont loose feeling in my hand from doing 4 essays of 2.5 pages in 1h 30m for modern studies!!
Good luck with Mod Studs. And the English one'll be fine. Your prelim grade will probably look bad, but the thresholds are completely different in the final.
ie, Prelims are marked at A:70% B: 60 C: 50
But the final is A: 62 B: 54 C: 45 (or something)
It tends to be after the prelim that you do well in English; so relax

I have real A Level exams in January...yippeee...
I think that's S1 equivalent, Jord. (IIRC, Englkand do 6 Primary 7 Secondary, we do the opposite).
