Its not them stopping buying season tickets, its saying that in order for the cup game you must buy a CL ticket or else they will sell your seat.

Ill agree with the arrogance it shows mind you.

But it's not a cup game, it is a normal league fixture. The system appears to be that, as part of the Ts&Cs of buying a season ticket, the purchaser agrees to buy extra tickets for home FA Cup and CL games. So, if the purchaser does not buy the CL ticket, the club are claiming the purchaser has broken the terms and is suspending the season ticket. However, rather than simply tearing up the ticket, they are suspending it only for one match, which strikes me as highly dubious. (Rather like FCC saying you have broken the terms of your season ticket, so you may not travel next Monday!) I would like to see where that ability is specified in the Terms.

I see that the FA hearing found against Nicolas Anelka in the now heavily publicised matter of the "Quenelle" gesture and gave him a 5-match ban and a fine of £80,000.

The ticket situation at Manchester United defies belief.

Good to see Leeds United back to public enemy no.1 in the Championship. This week we’ve managed to rile up Sheffield Wednesday fans on twitter due to signing Connor Wickham and now the whole league thinks there is a conspiracy with Sky TV after 2 more Leeds games were selected for TV coverage.

With tomorrow’s game at QPR already on Sky, further games away at Wigan and home to Forest have also been selected. I think this makes it 13 live Leeds United games on sky this season.

It’s great to be Leeds. 4.30am start tomorrow.

Might be wrong here but didn't I hear on MOTD that Pellegrini has 'only' won the Inter Toto Cup (or aren't Man City classed as a big European Club?)

I note that EUFA have today handed Manuel Pellegrini a 2-match ban for his after-match comments about the referee who was in charge of the Manchester City v Barcelona Champions League first-leg match which his side lost 2-0.

It goes beyond what has been reported though. If you don't buy the home cup match tickets (which seems to include League Cup matches even if you 'opt out') you get a lower chance of getting away (and cup final) match tickets. On the plus side for United fans, it looks as though the 14/15 season tickets will be cheaper.......:roll:

Oldham draw 2-2 to Tranmere today in which I thought the game will finish draw before kick off, is not bad draw as we sit 14th in table but we are only three points ahead of Crewe who are 21st in table and our next two matches are against teams in top 6 (Preston and Rotherham) Crewe on 15th March come be huge game for us if we lost to Preston and Rotherham and other teams in bottom half of table win or pick up aleast three/four points.

Droylsden who got relegating on Tuesday night lost 4-1 to FC United today, I still believe Droylsden will win a game this season. hopefully.

Other Tameside club who not having good season Hyde lost again today to Braintree (2-1) and Hyde could be relegating next Saturday if Chester, Hereford and Southport all win they matches but saying that Hyde will be relegating on 11th March if they failed to beat Halifax and Alfreton.

Nothing really but we did beat Nottingham Forest and Liverpool in FA Cup under him and got to final of Northern section of JPT which is furthest we been in that cup competition.

A loss for Derby today puts us 13points clear for automatic promotion, and we stay 8 points clear at the top with 13 games to go. How many points are normally needed for automatic promotion?

I don't think you need to ask that question. Leicester pretty much cannot be caught.

I think 86 points or thereabouts should be sufficient for auto this year.

The League isn't as open this year as the previous years but I think 86 points should be sufficient as on an average of 2 point per game, no team from QPR and lower can catch it. Derby will also require a good run to get there, but they are starting to get a bit wobbly.

My beloved York City won 4-0 away at Plymouth yesterday. So far, we have had no postponements (only club in Lge2 I think not too) and have turned a dozen or so games winless streak to just 2 defeats since the turn of the year.

As I stated early in the season I reckon York will have a good chance of making the play-off's. Since their win at my team, Plymouth, they have also won at home to Exeter 2-1 which cheered me up!!

As for Plymouth,since the York debacle, they won 0-2 away at improving Northampton. This was a bogey ground for Argyle and was their first win at Northampton for over sixty years!

This was followed by a 0-4 win at Promotion chasing Fleetwood Town last Tuesday and a 5-0 home win on Saturday against a poor Morecambe side.

A tricky trip to Bristol Rovers follows next Saturday. They are a side in relatively good form like us with J J O'Toole scoring plenty of goals so should be an entertaining match.

Big result at the weekend. Portsmouth came to Scunthorpe and got mullered 5-1, combined with Chesterfield losing at Wycombe, that put us joint top. However, we could only draw 1-1 with Bristol Rovers tonight, with Chesterfield scoring 4 in the space of 9 minutes (!!!) midway through the first half away to Cheltenham.

The big positive though is that Russ Wilcox is still undefeated as a manager, a run stretching back 17 games.

Not a bad result drawing with the Gas heads (Bristol Rovers), they are a good side. having said that League 2 is fairly close away from the top 7 or 8 sides, Northampton and Accrington are improving near the bottom so there are few easy games.

Plymouth vs Scunthorpe at Home Park on 15th March is a crucial game for both sides, Argyle need to ensure their place in the play-offs and have been rather inconsistent at home until recently.

Scunthorpe will look to frustrate the home side and maybe snatch a winning goal.

I don't know much about the Scunthorpe side perhaps you can tell me, their league position is good and they have been pretty consistent for most of 2014, maybe a few dropped points in recent games though with plenty of draws?

Winnall scoring plenty of goals for Scunny and a good defence with not many conceeded. How is ex Yeovil man Paddy Madden doing?

Still it was back on track this weekend against the bottom-three club Padiham, which saw Darlington register a 2-0 away win.

By all accounts we were terrible the other night - not helped by an awful referee - despite having most of the game and a hat full of chances we didn't score. However we struggled against Lancaster at their place earlier in the season and escaped with a 0-0.

yesterday we beat Padiham 2-0 but were not really pressed other than foer a 10 minute spell just after healf time where our keeper saved well twice.

We struggle at home against the sides around us in the league as they come and sit very deep with 10 or 11 behind the ball and we dont have the players to unlock that kind of defense. No one at our level does.

Curzon will win the league. It will be the play offs now for us. Anything can happen then

Absolutely disgusted at Pardew's behaviour - disgrace to Newcastle United football club. This time a decade ago Sir Bobby Robson would have been standing in our dugout - couldn't have seen him doing that somehow.

Decent results for us yesterday, as late as we did leave it. By my calculations we can win it next Wednesday (H v Airdrie) regardless of how Dunfermline do this coming weekend due to our vastly better goal difference; or win it outright if we win and Dunfermline lose or draw. We do have quite a lot of time to waste if we don't feel like winning it so soon however

Scunthorpe are generally playing pretty well. If we're up against a good team, we tend to grind a result out. Yes, we may have dropped a few points lately by drawing matches, but in fairness, we have had a few bad decisions go against us recently. Dodgy penalties for Fleetwood and Chesterfield, no penalty given when Sam Winnall was pole-axed against Bristol Rovers, and from what I've heard, there is a bit of dispute over Newport's first goal. As I haven't seen the highlights yet, I shall refrain from commenting.

Paddy Madden is settling in well, and starting to score a few goals, and looks to be forming a decent partnership with Winnall.

Pochettino I believe can comprehend and speak English but I believe he refuses to talk to the media in case he is misquoted or says something mistakenly [as in uses the wrong English word]. Can't say I blame him!
