I don't think that the level of disappointment could be measured if we didn't get the offer at this stage.

There was some talk on another thread about the training being moved to a different location to accomodate the higher number of trainees.
Any truth in this and if so is it still near the station?

Well done everyone who has got through. I was just wondering of anyone has heard from the manchester applications around 4-5 weeks ago? I've only received an email to say they are still sifting through.
Beginning to think I have definitely not got through paper sift.

I wouldn't worry too much.
It seems there is a lot of recruitment going on for quite a while yet.
I guess they are processing applications in batches.

No news is good news etc...

Bolton is great, not too dingy at all! Its the tutors that count and they are all great. This can be said for Conductor and driver tutors. The old waiting room is fine also.

Thanks! Hopefully you are right. I'll keep posted regardless of my result.

Does anybody know how long the first interview will last? I'm taking in a lot of information in but concious of filling my head with rubbish. Reading up on northern rail, wrote answers to example questions on information sheet.

I have alot written down that I'm trying to remember but worrying incase I get different questions.

I realise I'm way off even considering the potential of recieving a job offer just wanna get passed this stage.

My first interview (DMI) lasted about an hour.
I quite enjoyed this one. It's less formal that the MMI and has more of a 'chatty' feel to it. Don't be fooled by this though, you are still being judged.
Questions could include anything from 'tell me about yourself' to questions about Northern with some of the MMI style 'tell me when you had to work alone' style questions thrown in.
You will get a chance to ask questions at this interview so a good idea to go prepared with questions about the job, the company, career progression etc...

Wear a suit, turn up early, be friendly and polite and Bob's your uncle :)

Thanks Red, good to get some feedback from the people who have been through the process. I've been in my current job near on 9 years so rusty on the old interviews. But u suppose fail to prepare, prepare to fail has never been more appropriate.

Thanks again

And yet another Friday, another week gone.
I might have to invest in a new mouse this weekend; the button is wearing out due to the volume of inbox refreshes.
I wonder if today is the day?
