47818 also on hire from DRS for short set, joining 47810.
47813 failed a few times and is not in service at the minute(replaced with 47818). 47841 also on hire, used as a spare

841 isn't on hire to GA. It's out of traffic at Carlisle Kingmoor arriving after it took 47802 there last week I think.

Unlikely, given that the Mk2s that have already arrived are in normal DRS blue.

Nice to see a DVT has finally been sent off for painting. Finally we have the prospect of a full white set.

Does anyone know if the 170s will be off for painting fairly soon? Will all the 153s through and only one 156 left to go off one guesses the 170s will be soon on their way.

are GA still hiring a DBSO to go with the mark 2s? Will it be arriving with the loco?

I think not, dk1 has already said 2 x Cl 37's - on the GA Unit Failures thread.

' Rake of 3 shiny DRS coaches in sidings adj. Norwich station this evening approx 17.30 when I passed. No loco attached.

Mk2 BFK: 17159
Mk2 TSO: 6001, 6008

When do they start?
Should be before the 37s arrive using the current 47s. The two GA coaches currently used are desperately needed to bolster the depleted mainline fleet. '

I believe 314 is being refurbed as part of its repairs after its swimming trip.

314 is looking to be back at Norwich towards the end of next week. It's almost fixed, but not refurbished. It's desperately needed back. 156416 will disappear off when 417 comes back.

List fully updated, with the DRS hired-in coaches now also on the list. People do still use this list don't they? Do people find it useful? :P

DRS didn't refurbish any DBSOs in the end, due to the Cumbrian Coast LHCS services proving too expensive to operate with no one willing to pay. Therefore, T&T 37s will be used with a BFK as the brake vehicle in the formation.

Oh for god's sake :P Poor 153314 will never get repainted. Having said that, it is needed here. Does anyone know if both 37s will be taking power on the new LHCS set, or will one be dead on the rear. The locos and coaches are all wired for blue star multiple working so I assume both will be in use at the same time. Should make for some decent acceleration :P

Any idea on how long it will be till the 37s replace the 47s, I assume there will have to be some driver training beforehand?

Some driver training? Try full training. Norwich drivers don't sign 37's at all. No specific date for the 37's yet, but it looks like the Mk2's will go into traffic with the 47's first.

Yes of course! It's always helpful when around Norwich and just to keep an eye on things, it's very helpful :D

I take it one 47 will be dead on the rear, or are they wired the same as the 37s?

As far as I know, it'll be the same set up as now, t & t 47's. The DBSO hasn't arrived yet. And there isn't a 47 dead on the rear, they're both running at the same time, although only the leading loco powers.

I understand there is a DBSO coming to NC. 9707 was mentioned... I'm not clued up on DBSO's so I know know how true this is or whether 9707 still exists. 9711 from Tyseley still in Anglia colours will do ;) T&T 37's hasn't been formally mentioned has it?

153314 will get repainted. Stop getting so upset about that one Mr B!!!!! It's desperately needed back at NC. 156417 shouldn't be too far away now. 156416 will then go (currently out of traffic as it needs new wheelsets) and that'll also complete the 156 overhaul programme. 153314 should then go. I believe some 156's (3 of the first ones- 402, 422 & 412?) are due to go back to Wolverton as their overhaul was slightly different to the rest. 156419 was the first one to be completed with how the 156's should have been- no idea what's different.

90005 and 90014 came back to crown point with their names on so perhaps 90013 is to be renamed

Just a thought, did it have a blue-backed nameplate or a red-backed one? Maybe they are only keeping the red-backed nameplates. I still have a sneaking suspicion it will go back on when the new vinyls are applied :)

9707 is still around somewhere, stored at Eastleigh I think, and still retaining it's glorious Anglia livery, although it is still wired for TDM operation with 86s and not blue star.

I am not upset about 153314, more enthusiastic about it's upcoming refurbishment and standardisation of the GA 153 fleet :P 156416 needs new wheelsets as well, eh? Glad to see it finally got it's comeuppance ;) 402, 422 and 412 need to go back to Wolverton as they only got the damaged seat backs replaced, where 419 onwards have had all of them replaced. The old seat backs still have the unsightly redundant table mountings in place, so this is why it is being done (another pet hatred of mine :P ) Hasn't one of those 3 been to Wolverton again and come back already? Also, apparently some of the refurb'ed 156s haven't got the new LED lights due to a lack of parts, but swapping the bulbs would not require a trip to Wolverton ;)

It was 'Evening Star' which had both red and blue on it so this may indeed be the reason. Not sure why it don't come back with the AGA logos on though as the other two did.

Has to have another driver on rear loco at all times through journey unless shut down as no through fire bells.
