N95 is better than an iPhone. Discuss

As the title says ...

I have just bought a Nokia N95 8gb (more in my blog entitled 'Phone Problems').
And I think it is sooooo much better than an iPhoney.

What do you guys think?

At least I know what Tom is going to say about this ......

And the N95 can send MMS messages and surf the internet a little bit faster due to its 3G and HSPDA.
And why would I want an iPod? iTunes is rubbish and don't get me started on the file structure!

Put it this way:-

MMS messages are all very well and good but in reality they're not really used. Besides, Apple have provided a very good alternative in the form of email! Depending on coverage, EDGE can run a lot faster than 3G - and you'll find not much of the UK has HSDPA coverage, if it does, it's either not very good or it's in central London.

I think you'll find iPods are the most popular music product.

Besides, the iPhone isn't that expensive if you look at it this way:
- iPod is £199 (iPod touch with equivalent specs is £199)
- Phone is £70 (which for a very good phone contract is quite reasonable)
- Contract is 'expensive', I'll admit, but it's the same as what I get currently just about (I'm with T-Mobile on Flext 25 + £10 blackberry tariff)

Yeah, yeah, I know HSPDA is only good in London, but how am I picking up a good HSPDA connection on the Isle Of Sheppey?

iPods are only as popular as they are cos of the hyper up media attention they get. Don't forget they aren't the most reliable music product's in the world ....

As for the contract, I get 200 anytime free minutes and 250 texts each month for £25.
Which is a good contract for Vodafone.
I have to pay extra for itemised billing, insurance and unlimited internet (with a N95 you defo need the unlimited internet!)

Also Vodafone are very good with their repairs. They text you when your phone has arrived at the service centre, after it has been fixed and also when it is ready for collection.

No problem, I dont like the Iphone prefer the nokia more compact in my opinion.

Compared to my old W900i, it is slightly smaller and quite a lot lighter, which is no bad thing.
I am just amazed at all of the features (especially when compared to its rivals)

If you use HSDPA you've probably got unlimited data transfer (or about 100mb limit) yet a limited number of MMS messages, why have MMS messages when you can just use e-mail over your unlimited data transfer? :roll:

Erm, so they text the number that is broken? That makes sense ...

Apple will just give you a replacement there and then if you go to a shop...

iPod's are good. I'm thinking of getting a Mac soon, but they are rather pricey. I may get the new nano as well, but I may steer clear from the iPhone for a while. The phone I got is good enough for me anyway. Samsung Z400 2MP camera, video calling, 3G ect...

After my experience with Apple Service who lost my ipod and i've never seen again I will never have anything to do with them. I've just got an N95 and its a perfectly ample competitor and from a company who have been in telephony alot longer.

Nokia have been making phones for decades, albeit with various degress of success.
Whereas Apple have been making phones for 1 year!

i just renewed my phone contract and looked around for a phone, looked at the iphone and well was not impressed, i already have an ipod ( 9 months old) so why would i want two, and to me all the hype was for know reason at all and the price is very prohibitive aswell, dont like nokia's either, went for the new samsung sgh-g600 edge instead, it does everything i want in a phone.

I have the same problem too you know.
The N95 is just an amazing "[SIZE=-1]multimedia computer" (as Nokia put it).

There's an added bonus with the European N95 8GB's - Spiderman 3 (the whole film) and the theme tune (from the opening credits) and a message tone of a stream of the sticky web stuff (if you know what I mean).
