If the Queen travels by scheduled rail services, which she does from time to time, as Sovereign does she technically need a ticket?

If she did travel without a ticket I assume that the TOC would have no recourse as the Queen cannot be tried in her own Courts.

Discuss! :D

Perhaps that's why Northern developed their Fixed Penalty Notices - they can keep it out of court ;)

And I doubt G4s would care who she was! Sure I remember a thread on here cupple years ago which stated she had bought a ticket prior to an Xmas Eve journey with FCC?↲

One would also assume that if she indeed have to pay she would have the relevant railcard

Now that King's Lynn is barriered, I'd imagine she'd need a ticket. :D

I'm inspired to visit one of Oscar Wilde's famous replies following a challenge to reply on any subject: the proposed subject was "The Queen". His curt reply had two meanings, and was also a rebuttal of the question, it is also what I want to say to this thread: "The Queen is not a subject."

Can she be sued in her own courts?
No.
That is not to imply imunity from all Courts.

She could show them a postage stamp and they would think it was her Pensioners Rail Card.
Ha Ha!
Though the last time I looked, the Senior Railcard didn't include an image or the passenger.

Laws only bind the Crown if they expressly say so.
and how many Courts will hear such a plea?
