I think if we get through then theres no doubt we will be offered a job. However a guy next to me said he had got through eveything about a year ago or so but got put on hold that long that his tests were out of date so had to do it again

Because he would have done the old tests

I asked in the interview and it's ongoing all year, but you never know what's round the corner, if we pass next week that's it we don't have to do them again for 5 yrs, I'm lucky as my work know I'm doing this and my job is secure for next few years, I can wait :D:D....

hi guys. Got through the computer tests and was told on the day that I passed them. Did the SJE and MMI waiting for results and they didn't give anything away. It was similar to the structured interview but there was a lot more probing and questioning. Waiting game now!

Christ forgot you already had yours.....how did you find the controls?
Was it the same 2 people that conducted our day 1?
Good luck!

no two different people. The controls were OK and the whole thing was difficult because you don't want to mess up. I think if you walked in and there was no job at the end of the process you would do much better.
The thing I found was don't spend too much thinking on the pictures just do them as you see them. Otherwise you end up making things up and thinking you saw things you didn't. With the 2-hand speed and accuracy. 2 people failed on this test on the day.
Thanks I need it just don't know what to do with my self now. At least last time I had the notes for Stage 2 to read!

Good luck to anyone doing their stage 2 next week.

absolutely louby I tried the examples in the guide at home with my wife and I got really bad results. but I passed on the day and I don't think I did that bad. I think the key with me was I didn't think about the answers too long, you do tend to start thinking pedestrians were cyclists and such so just go with what you think you saw straight away.

there really is no perfect training you can do for any of it unless you have the gear they have. even the joysticks its similar to PS3 controller but its not exactly because if you let go the dot returns to start position.

I think the key was to just remain calm.

Correct. They're looking to see how well you manage under pressure. You can set any number of tests that are impossible to meet 100% - the key is how you handle that situation. Always remain calm and keep a cool head if you can.

I think this particularly applies to the 2 Hand test where you will move the dot out of the lines at some point. The movement is not particularly smooth and this slightly jerky movement makes it almost impossible not to.
I went over the lines a few times but still passed as did everyone else. You just need to keep calm and get the dot back in as soon as you can and carry on.
I know it's an easy thing to say but seriously, don't stress about the computer tests.
Make sure you have good examples for your MMI and you'll be fine.

Good luck to all doing tests next week !

I found that about the 2 hand test. I got out of the lines at various points but always got back as soon as I can as the instructions said. I think if you just stay calm keep the dot moving and keep within the lines as much as possible you will be fine. The point is too not go to slow or too fast.
Good luck to all this coming week.

Just as a thought has anybody got any ideas when we will be hearing about medicals and start days? Anyone heard regarding start dates for Manchester depots? how long did it take to hear back after receiving confirmation of stage2?

Well done gholi06.
I'm hoping we might find something out as soon as this last batch of assessments is complete.

Thanks guys. Yes I was surprised I got an email today Lou.
Red18 are you in for Manchester depots as well. I can't remember if you had gone for wigan or manchester?

Are you still in assessment 302? How's it going?

Sunday mornin I can't explain how good it feels. I know I still haven't definitely got the job but I've shown I got the required attributes!
The one thing is though the waiting isn't over! I thought it wouldn't be so bad once I had passed but it's more in the back of my mind now than ever before, I just want to know medical and start date! Fingers crossed will be soon!
