Unfortunately, the Buxton Line's service on a Sunday is extremely limited, so we have no choice but to return on 2H09, the 1758 Northern service to Stockport, arriving there at 1812 on Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, there are no more services until Monday morning, so we board 1V52, the 0727 CrossCountry service to Cheltenham, arriving there at 1300 on Monday afternoon.

We think it best to steer clear from anything south of here at the present time so we next board the 1311 XC service to Glasgow Central that arrives there at 2015 on Monday evening.

Hold Hold Hold

The rules state the following:

Rules said:
Timetables
You should use the current timetable for the relevant day not including timetable variations for engineering works or other disruptions.

Going on that basis, it seems that disruption is not counted in this game. Similarly, the rules say a normal service is in operating on 25/26th December.

Zoe - could you clarify this please. Thank you!

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
My contention is that I made a normal timetabled rail journey from Leamington Spa (to give it its full name) to Glasgow Central. I just made comment on current rail matters as an adjunct to my main posting, but that had no reflection whatsoever on the valid rail journey that I made...Note that there was only an 11 minute stay on Cheltenham Spa railway station.

The 1311 departure from Cheltenham Spa to Glasgow Central is in the normal XC timetable so I can't see anythign wrong with Paul's move and we can RESUME from Glasgow Central at 2015 on Monday.

Noting the 15 minute minimum connection time here we partake of refreshment before boarding the 20:30 FSR service to Ayr arriving at 21:21 on Monday.

Deciding we want a closer look of the airport we have just past, we board the 22:08 Scotrail service to Prestwick International Airport arriving at 22:11 Monday evening.

We make our way to platform 3 to board the service along the GOBLIN route. We depart on the 10:05 LO service and alight at Leyton Midland Road at 10:27 on Tuesday morning.

Hoping this is a valid move:

We take bus route W16 from Leyton Midland Road, stop SN at 1042

We arrive Leytonstone, Grove Green Road at 1102 Tuesday Morning

I can't find a 1042 departure from Leyton Midland Road. The TfL journey planner shows departures on the W16 at 1036 (which would be the W16 you would have to take) and 1048. HOLDING for clarification. If no response to the hold by 2200 on 14 December, game will RESUME from Leyton Midand Road at 1027 on Tuesday under open floor conditions.

I didn't think it would be.

Carry on with the game, I have no objections

The correct name for that railway station is Cheltenham Spa

Cheltenham/Cheltenham Spa.

Both the same station so it really doesn't matter.

In fact, the blinds on ATW 150s/153s only display Cheltenham on them.

I think it was clear what station I was referring to

Actually looking back that is true. I thought it potentially was against the rules. It probably just seemed weird that we went from Newcastle to Cheltenham and then all the way back up to Glasgow!

We take a short onward rail journey by boarding the 1042 LO service to Barking that arrives there at 1056 on Tuesday morning.

The minimum connection time at Barking is five minutes. Going on that basis, we then board the 1105 Stagecoach London service 5 to Canning Town (Bus Station), arriving there at 1135 on Tuesday afternoon.

HOLD HOLD HOLD The TfL journey planners shows the departure from Barking station at 1106 arriving at Canning Town station at 1143. Last time there was a contradiciton between websites showing timetables, I asked which site people would like to take preference and the reply was that it should be the TfL journey planner.

Well the site I've used since this game started hasn't been the TfL journey planner and I have never had any queries from any of my previous London bus journeys?

But whatever....1106 arriving at 1143 then.

I also used to use londonbusroutes.net for timetables. It was only when I discovered differences between this site and the TfL journey planner that I asked which site people would prefer to use and the answer at the time was the TfL journey planner. I am happy to change this if most people playing want to use londonbusrotues.net though.

That's the site I use. It has the official London Bus font so thought they were the correct timetables. It seems rather stupid that the two key sources for the capital city's bus routes are slightly different! But it's fine for me, I'm happy to use whatever :) anything to not complicate this game!

We enter into the Canning Town DLR station and board the 1157 DLR service to Woolwich Arsenal DLR station that arrives there at 1209 on Tuesday afternoon.

We then board the 1220 Stagecoach London service 51 to Orpington (High Street), arriving there at 1322 on Tuesday afternoon (now this is exactly the same on both sites!?)

I will record a valid move here!

According to londonbusroutes we quickly hop back on our bus travels with the 1331 Stagecoach London route 61 service all the way to its conclusion at Chislehurst, Gordon Arms at 1353, Tuesday afternoon

ps. Has anyone taken a note of all the different places visited on this epic journey??? - I'd give it a go if nobody has already done so.

Do you know, I think of this every single time I post! It would be a pretty expensive and long trip!
