Is anyone aware of any country/countries asides from the UK where this profession is particularly fruitful/in demand at current? Just curious to know my options is all.

I'd probably say Qatar will be a big one (brother is a tester for atkins and apparently ridiculous money is being offered for the best) but whether this is true or not, but considering they are setting up a new railway system it would be a good guess!

I believe Australia use the same signalling systems as us. If you look in railway magazines, especially ones aimed at railway employees, there are usually adverts in those.

Cheers, would be nice to go out there for five or so years on silly tax-free money to bring home!
