Railway tv channel

Flicking through the endless crap that I have on sky and finding nothing worth watching,nothing at all,not a sausage,bugger all.
If there ever was a dedicated transport channel opened up on the satellite platform what would you think people would like to see on it? Are there enough people out there interested enough to tune in and watch often enough to make it a success

I think with all the transport programmes we see on various channels shows that there is obviously interest out there.

We've had the great western on channel 5, East Coast on sky, we had that airport and airplane going back a little further (however they are still repeated on sky today)

Stobarts truckers, ice road truckers, even the London routemasters thing on the been not long ago.

The interest is certainly there and I think if you were to build in things like updates on how traffic is flowing at peak hours you would get a lot of interest

If you like driver's eye views, go onto you tube and search for fuhrerstandmitfahrt - German for driver's eye view - and you will find a lot of full length videos, mostly without commentary but with station captions so no language issues, apparently made for some German railway TV channel, a lot are of German lines but there are many from elsewhere including Switzerland, Norway, Thailand, also the whole West Highland from Glasgow to Mallaig.

I know that there are lots of programmes out there, stuff like mark Williams on the rails ,Pete waterman etc,but they all show on different channels . There used to be an American channel a few years back that was on the lifestyle set of programmes,it had loads of American stuff about railways and tramways, but it disappeared overnight,what I'm saying is a dedicated channel about all things transport.you tube is ok, but it is what it is,and programmes like airport or east coast trains are more about the people that work there,not about the interesting stuff.

Bahn TV in Germany closed a few years ago, DB couldn't justify the transmission costs. I believe the slot became a Tart on Sofa channel.

If you were going to start something maybe Internet TV would be the way to go. I'm thinking something along the lines of Revision3 or Geek And Sundry - OK you wouldn't get so many casual viewers but you'd have a better chance of covering your costs.

Brilliant, I remember watching this after a boozy night out in Majorca 8 years ago. For the life of me I couldnt find it anywhere else and started wondering if I had indeed drank too much and imagined it all.
