I should think so. I would also be very surprised if, with new deckers (gold speck) and a better service they could easilly forse First out. Twitter and Facebook today also reporting price changes for journeys on stagecoach services within Edinburgh only with adult singles soon to be £1.5↲and child 75p. Think there planning to offer these all the way out?↲

I doubt there will offer such prices all the way out to the ferry. All it really does it match the current fares of Lothian Buses.

27546 is stuck to the 77 at the moment, has been on it the last three days. 16932 would have been on the depot shuttle after doing the 501 in the morning.

It depends when you saw the Olympian on the 57. There is a peak working that uses an Oly

27546 was back in Arbroath as I saw it working the 30 in Montrose yesterday 16228 was on the 39 and 16229 on the 47 Montrose town service.

All Fife double decker B7TL/B9TLs are now allocated to glenrothes with 1 E400 allocated to Rennies.

The double decker changes took place in Fife at the weekend. This is to try and standardise decker types at each depot. I don't know all the changes but -

16950/51/52/ 18007/12 18123/24 have left Aberhill.

17197 17294/95 18097 19047 19050 19052 have replaced them.

16953 will remain at Aberhill while 19057 is VOR. 18097 is back at Aberhill where it started its life almost ten years ago.

Im not sure what First can do, unless there copy Stagecoach? All stagecoach has done is used the current resources to increase the service. I do wonder what the fares will be like, Stagecoach fares are £3.30 from the tolls, while First Fares are £3.00.

Touch wood: I have talk, the normal stuff First might move back into Fife, I know etc etc...

STAGECOACH ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF NEW QUEENSFERRY BUS LINK
Stagecoach have today confirmed details of a new bus link between Edinburgh and Queensferry.

The new route, which will be numbered 40/40A is to begin on Monday 3rd March 2014.

The route will operate daily, every 10 minutes during peak times, every 15 throughout the day and every 30 minutes in the evenings on Mondays to Saturdays and every 30 minutes throughout the day on Sundays.

Route 40 will operate as a circular from Edinburgh via the A90, Echline, Queensferry High Street, Kirkliston Road, Scotstoun Estate, Tesco, Station Road and Dalmeny returning to Edinburgh. Route 40A operates in the opposite direction, thus providing fast journeys into Edinburgh city centre via the A90.

The company already operate a number of regular stopping and direct Express City Connect routes into the City via Barnton and this new route will compliment these, whilst providing the residents of Queensferry and Dalmeny with alternative direct and frequent travel options to the City Centre.

Andrew Jarvis, Managing Director for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “We’re delighted to be introducing our new 40 service to the residents and visitors of Queensferry. We have carefully designed the new route to offer speedy journeys to the City Centre whilst also providing local links to the High Street and Tesco. We have been very successful in growing the number of customers choosing to use our services into Edinburgh from Fife and strongly believe that there is significant scope in this area to attract many more people out of their cars and on to our greener, smarter services.”

Stagecoach have already confirmed a fare change for single/return fares within Edinburgh itself from 3rd March, with the fare in the city rising to £1.50. Single fares from Queensferry to Edinburgh will be set at a competitive level.

Mr Jarvis added: "We are working on competitive multi journey ticket prices too, so that commuters, families, kids and students enjoy great value travel. Further details will be announced in due course."

Other timetable changes to occur on the 3rd March will include the introduction of some peak time journeys between Dunfermline and Queensferry, daily on route 55A.

Indeed, and at one time it ran out to SQ. The other LRT services to run out there were the 66 and 18. The 66 ran to Queensferry from Monday 31 July 1989 until Saturday 23 June 1990, the 40 took over from Monday 25 June 1990 until Saturday 24 April 1993 and then finally the 18 from Monday 26 April 1993 until Saturday 10 December 1994.

There are NO PLANS, at the moment. Its also now 2 weeks down the line, for first to react to this new service.

There may be some on the

15 (Perth - Comrie), 23 (Perth - Aberfeldy), 34 (Perth - Spittalfield) 57 (Perth - Blairgowrie) and 58 (Perth - Blairgowrie). I think the 34, 57 and 58 are the only ones allocated Olympians though.

There is an Olympian allocated to a 57 short working between Perth and Blairgowrie and the 58 peaks. The other routes are just what they sometimes appear on.

Yep 6XX and 8XX are the school runs which also double up as service routes in which fare paying passengers can use. The 15 does seem to utilise the Oly's the most.

Often they get used for the school runs in Crieff, and even the odd occasion on the 47 from Crieff to Stirling.

The 15 interworks with the 47 at Crieff so thats why Olympians are also used on the 47 some times

Very much doubt it, Stagecoach East Scotland as a whole seem to be short of drivers, I know Perth are short by at least 10. They always seem to be advertising for drivers all the time...
