Our class is 73 is back on the patch after a long time away, and rather than being in Gatwick Express colours, its now in the white and green of Southern. Its name plates have gone as well. Was in lovers walk this evening after bringing down a ill 442

I think she looks quite nice in that livery, like the curves off the cab windows, takes some of the boxiness away

It's clever what they have done - I like it !!

I agree, it looks very smart. I wouldn't mind seeing a 442 similarly treated, their Gatwick Express livery is not that inspiring..

Too busy, it would look better without that dark strip down the side.

Can't say I like the Gatwick Express/Southern decals on the side, they look really cheap and tacky; and where's the Dave Berry nameplates gone!

The Southern colours look really good on it though.

Couple of questions, who is/was Dave Berry and how does the Les Kilroy name fit into the chronology?

It was in the Gatwick sidings on Boxing Day; coupled to a 442 (presumably the one that hit the landslide on Xmas Eve?) & looked quite striking!

Not sure if it's still there at the moment.

It was Brighton on Saturday coupled to a 442.. I thought it looked a bit odd!

she looks rather sexy in southern...that green really suits the old girl, nice to see her in lovers walk, and still in her old stomping grounds

I generally prefer it when locos are a matching (but subtly different/contrasting) colour scheme to the carriages they pull- so all-over dark green rather than the white would be better in my opinion. Though as it's not really used to haul coaches, it doesn't really matter.

Passed it at Selhurst on Tuesday 7/1/14. Was looking out for 377/6s but spotted it. Looks rather nice I felt it looked better than a few other liveries 73s are carrying.
