I think leather would be a lot easier to clean and maintain, but I don't mind sitting on it.

Can't understand your comment - Brian Souter has to be the most astute, outstanding, bus man of the current generation. Even if people don't like him they'll struggle to deny his qualities.

Good, Quite right too. Those leather seats can be terribly uncomfortable and I certainly prefer a well padded moquette seat.

I don't see how someone of such dubious personal attributes can be worthy of an award, but putting that to one side, I doubt the people of Darlington would agree that what he did was any good for passengers.

If you want to base an award on who can rip people off and profiteer and insult the entire population of the North, then sure, by all means, he deserves it...

Curious where the "racist" tag comes from, but if you consider the SNP to be "an extremist political party" there's little hope of a sensible answer!

He is clearly talented at leading a successful company but his homophobic, racist and support for an extremist political party does not go down with very many people.

Can you explain further please - this doesn't make much sense to me (unless my facts are wrong)

As I understand it Brian Souter is a member of one of the more conservative Scottish churches and has previously donated some of his personal wealth to some of their anti gay campaigns. Though that hasn't stopped him working with Ray Stenning. I don't agree with his views but I respect that he has the right to hold them.

I'm not sure the SNP are extremist either, they seem to occupy the middle ground between Labour and the Tory Party.

I'd agree with you there. The commitment to a nuclear free Scotland is one of the most obvious left wing policies

I recently travelled by NatEx from Dover to Swindon and back. The Dover to London coaches have leather seats - I spent a fair amount of time moving back to where I'd slid from! The older coaches on the London-Swindon run were much more comfortable.
