Christmas on the Met

I've been trying to book tickets for the Christmas on the Met event on Sunday 08th December, but the tickets page on the London Transport Museum seems to have been down for most of the day. Am I alone or has anybody else had this trouble too?

I booked my tickets at 5pm and the website was fine. I did notice ealier the website wasn't working nor on Sunday.

I can't find any reference to it anywhere, either on Google or the LTM website. Similarly I can't find "Tickets" section on the LTM website!

Maybe I'm just having a senior moment.

That website is awful! Have tried twice to book tickets and it has failed :-x

Also what the hell does COBO mean on the delivery option? There is a print at home option but if you read the terms and conditions it only mentions posting or collecting from the LT Museum. Will give it one more go a bit later when I have calmed down but it will probably be easier to go to the museum in person and get the tickets there (don't suppose that is possible).

COBO appears on my booking confirmation, and I haven't the foggiest what it means either.

I'm on the 10:50 BTW, hopefully spending the rest of the day for photting the 20 and kettle.

Gave up in the end and phoned them up to book seats and were told that the tickets would be posted - so we should be on the 12:50. Might or might not phot the other trips depending on (a) the weather and (b) work.

Maybe worth giving them a call.

I made my booking on 20th November, and ticket / info / timings posted on the 25th.

Did you give an email address when you booked ? If so, you should have received an email yesterday with the relevant information.

I never received my tickets either and spent yesterday afternoon chasing up the museum shop. I was told to bring my e-mail confirmation along and pick up the tickets at Harrow.

I'm on the 13.50. I don't know any forum members. I'll probably be wearing a mauve bobble hat and bright yellow cycling gloves.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR SUNDAY STEAM RUN:

It has come to light in this week’s final tests on Metropolitan Locomotive No 1, that an old repair has become defective in the smoke box. Unfortunately it is a complex repair which needs to be carried out and we are unable to do this in time for Sunday 8th December. We will therefore not be able to run this locomotive, but will be running our reserve Locomotive L150

Really? How late did it get?

I got the 11:50 which seemed to arrive for us to board on time at around 11:30... left at 11:50 dead on time, but arrived Uxbridge 12:12 / 12:17 departure and got back at 12:36!

The 13.50pm & 14.50pm departures ex HOTH both got away late (I was on the latter), and another trip appeared to depart shortly after 15.50pm again heading towards Uxbridge. Does anyone know if this was an extra trip to cope with demand or something else? Nice enjoyable trip it has to be said & the staff were friendly & helpful.

Hopefully some more trips can be planned in the future. Anyone have any particular line (s) they would like to see this happen on?

Well that was good fun, I enjoyed the 20 more than the Prairie

Your photo of the prairie is almost identical to one I took of the 11:50 departure from the same position. I then went to Ruislip station hoping to phot the return - just as the 20 appears an S8 stock unit rolls in.

However, I did get shots at Uxbridge, Hillingdon (A40 bridge), Ickenham, Rayners Lane, and back to Ruislip in fading light for the return of the 14:50 departure.

Not sure if it was my imagination but it sounded as though all three locos were under power whenever the train was accelerating from a station during the eastbound runs. When I was on the 10:50 departure Sarah Siddons seemed to be doing more work than the prairie.

Very early planning for August 2014, Moorgate-Hammersmith 150th Anniversary.

A repeat of the Uxbridge shuttles when I am not working would be appreciated - good job I had No12 for haulage down the line on 19 September 1982 as I suspect I may be waiting a long time. That day the train went into the sidings at Uxbridge not the station. I am missing the few yards into Uxbridge station.

What would be fun from my point of view would be some outings behind a few of the battery electrics. I had the pleasure back in 1988. It is more than about time for another jaunt behind some yellow beasties please, TFL. Perhaps some Moorgate-Hammersmith runs. Borrow some Northern Belle coaches and run some lunch specials. What fun rolling into Baker Street half way through a three course meal with the tourists and commuters gawping in through the window.

I have had dinner on the Paris Metro (though that was served up during a lunch break at a disused platform admittedly). Why not the London Underground.
