Plans for stations in CP5

The last two control periods have seen massive investment being made into stations - both to revamp them and to expand their facilities. Much of this has come through schemes such as NSIP and Access for All. There have also been large individual schemes such as Kings Cross, Waverley and New St. With CP4 coming to a close there does seem to be a slight moving away from station developments to route issues such as electrification, signalling and capacity increases such as Norton Bridge.

My question is this. Are the schemes mentioned above continuing into CP5? Also what large station developments are planned - I have seen plans or Bristol TM, Oxford and Rochester but little else. I am discounting projects that have started in CP4 and run into CP5.

There is quite a lot of scheduled work at stations around greater Manchester (MAN, MCO, MIA and RCD as far as I remember) which are scheduled to start at varying times in connection with the Northern Hub.

Disability access legislation applies to stations not just rolling stock, the programs to make stations compliant will be ongoing for many years yet, prioritised by passenger numbers vs adaptation cost.

My question is this. Are the schemes mentioned above (NSIF and Access forAll) continuing into CP5?

As none of the four previous replies actually answer your first question, yes they are.

They are both mentioned in various places, e.g. the DfT's HLOS, in a number of NR publications about CP5 work packages, and most recently they [1] are featured in ORR's final draft determination.

[1] In CP5 it looks like they will be referred to together as the 'Stations Improvement Fund':
DfT HLOS said:
Station Improvement
54.The Secretary of State wishes the industry to improve the passenger experience at stations and is making available up to £100 million over CP5 to fund station infrastructure improvements, including better passenger information and up to £100 million over CP5 to fund ‘Access for All’ measures to provide easier access for older or disabled passengers and those with small children. She looks to the industry to seek funding contributions from other sources to further fund station infrastructure improvements.

I read in the HLOS a few months ago that "Wimbledon station congestion relief" was on the HLOS agenda for CP5-any idea what that'll entail? Probably ten-car platforms but I could be wrong. I know Waterloo is having a major enhancement to the Inner Suburban SWML platforms, but Wimbledon's enhancement probably wont be for a few years yet.

Wimbledon already had 10 car platform capability. It wasn't part of the general 10 car lengthening in the area.

I think the 'congestion relief' is a separate interchange footbridge towards the London end of the station; the idea being to remove all the NR/LU transfers from the main concourse.

The enhancement plans generally refer to capacity increases by lengthening trains separately to 'congestion relief', the latter term seems to be reserved for changes to access or circulation arrangements.

Now don't I look silly for missing that out? A connection into the Centre Court car park may also be useful.
