freight train that has not reported?

Can anyone in the know please advise what has happened to Train 662N which was supposed to have left Whitemoor at 11h32, passing Sleaford at 13h09 and arriving Doncaster up Decoy yard at 14h41 today.

As RTT said it was purported to be trailing (not my choice of words) 2000 tonnes I thought I might stroll around to SLR and take a peek at the sight of this train. Nothing went through here at that time and though I stayed 10 to 15 minutes more, nothing happened.

RTT is still reporting the train at Whitemoor. Any views on what has happened to this Freight?

Thanks 'The Planner' - I see it is only due to run Wed/Fri only, so might be better to catch it on a Wed.

Just a friendly note (again!) that 662N is not a headcode/reporting number. Other than the first digit, it is a randomised four-character entry and has no significance. Most freight & charter workings, other than TOC/WCRC services & TOC-operated RHTTs, appear with similar anonymity.

I wish RTT would display these workings as (for example) "6???", which is a format already used by the likes of www.sussextrains.co.uk.

No problem! Icons are for points of interest and other random stuff. You can currently click some of the ones near Gatwick Airport and they give you info or a picture/video.

It was cancelled - it will have been an engineers service so might not have been required or there may have been no traffic for it.

The 2000 tonnes is just a guide for the timings - it doesn't mean it runs with 2000 tonnes, it might run with one wagon!

The 662N means nothing it is best to ignore it tbh

it is nothing more than a spare/unused path.

As a reminder, RTT was created/designed to track passenger trains - the inclusion
of non-passenger services in the [detailed] view was basically an afterthought,
so such data is provided on a purely 'as is' basis.

it is best to see these kind of paths as booking space on the network if you need them. Some get used, some dont.

The reason why it does not at present is because other sources show those identities moving around the network so it is easier to use as a cross reference.
