All lines blocked after a trespass incident that became more serious when that person was struck at Chapeltown, second one at that station in a week. My home station, thoughts to everyone involved, rare to see it regularly at a small station.

Looks to me that 1L88 1450 Sheffield to Leeds is the one involved.

Apparently they survived.

I was there last week visiting the new Wetherspoon pub a stones throw from the station. Something that struck me was the number of people using the platform as a short cut from the store car park to the street - do some also short cut across the tracks?

Yes many cut across tracks when they have got off a train.

I certainly use platform 1 as a short cut from the street up to the supermarket - never short cut across the tracks though, always go down and under the bridge if I need to.

The wooden blocks they added on the ramps at the end of the platforms obviously haven't had much of an effect on stopping people running across the tracks (certainly stupid as the xx:48 can be in the station as the Leeds-Nottingham train goes through at full pelt)
