Surely nothing can beat this?

Well, whenever I get a film from LoveFilm/Blockbusters (I only buy films on DVD I really really like, like Avatar) I don't read the information, as half the time it gives the whole film away. I look at the top on the film#s IMDB page for the very short description (not reading the plot either, that explains the whole film).

For this title, The Human Centipede, I didn't actually read anything about it at all, not even a short description. I saw a poster for it, thought it sounded alright, and rented it...wish I read about it  !!

I knew it wasn't some fairytale story I know, but I didn't expect it to be a bit...heavy. Some of the props used on actors are pretty detailed that it does look real. Most of it I can't describe on a family forum, but I've seen there is a number 2 now, and is banned in the UK so if I was desperate to see it, I'd have to buy it from overseas.

I've read about it instead, and I didn't think it could get more twisted to be honest, but 2 really makes number 1 look like a family film! It really gets out of hand in 2 with some rather disturbing scenes explained in text, again I can't repeat on here.
I've since learned that the whole idea is not the plot, but the director simply wanted the most twisted film to the point it could be banned.

Has he won, or is there really anything out there that was so gross it was also banned?

If someone threatened to kill me but said you will live if you watch one of these films, Saw or Human Centipede 2, I'd go for Saw, at least it's not that bad in comparison!

I didn't even know there was a Human Centipede 2. I watched number one with my friend and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.
I saw the lack of plot from the off, I mean what possible gain can a man of science see from sewing 3 people together.
I've just told the friend in question that number 2 is banned in the UK and was met with disappointment. I suppose that's different tastes in different people.
Nowt so queer as folk as my old mam used to say.

Disappointment? For the better more like !

I didn't know until I Googled it to see if the director did carry it on. I couldn't see it being a sequel as the end of 1 pretty much was an ending. From what I've read, number 2 is a sequel but based on a mad bloke (not a doctor) who watches Human Centipede 1 and is obsessed by it he does a bigger version, and does some bizarre stuff beyond belief....let's just say barbed wire around something and goes where it's dark....yeah you get the idea..

There is a trailer for it too, but the trailer doesn't reveal anything from the film as there isn't anything they can show, so the trailer is a bit pointless as it doesn't really say anything.

Unsure about the ban actually, it say's here it is:

http://www.totalfilm.com/news/human-centipede-ii-banned-by-bbfc

However, if your friend is interested, there are loads of copies for sale on Ebay that are Region 2 UK DVD's, unsure if these are sort of edited versions that might have some banned scenes cut or something...

I think the director actually complained when the BBFC refused to award the film classification essentially banning it. He cited that if was 'make believe and not real' and meant to entertain a certain audience. Though I would imagine the only audience interested in this 'film' would be murderers, rapists and other miscellaneous disgusting excuses for human beings.

In my view David Cooke and his BBFC were incorrect not to issue a certificate for this film.

It would have been unlikely to gain a Cinema Showing , and remember a Local Authority can ignore the BBFC if it wishes to (not that they would with this film)

A DVD release would have been appropriate in my view.

If Cook and his fellow board members are not traumatised by such material then others should be free to make their minds up by viewing the film.

If you thought that was sick check out "A Serbian Film". Now that is horrible. And "Old Boy" whilst being a really good also has a really disturbing story whilst not actually being gory or anything.

Regarding A Serbian Film, I don't actually recommend you watch it but just read about about it on your film review site of choice. It is banned all over the place, the Serbian State investigated them after hearing about it and the police actually turned up in Germany when they were transferring it to 35mm film.

They didn't apply for a cinema release.

You would think that but you would be quite wrong.

Is this the Dutch film that certain Jewish critics said took its storyline from certain notebooks that were found in Nazi genetic engineering experimental buildings at the end of the Third Reich ?

Apparently so, as per the font of all knowledge that is Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Human_Centipede_(First_Sequence)

The Human Centipede (First Sequence) is a 2010 Dutch horror film ...

... inspiration for the film came from Nazi medical experiments carried out during World War II, ...

But seriously, the Saw franchise.

Someone I know came across the first of those accidentally whilst flicking through the telly, watched a bit and then turned over. But then turned back as the continuation she was imagining was worse than the film's actual plot.

A couple of months ago some people were going on about The Human Centipede at school and had no idea what they were on about and on the last day before the holidays we were watching stuff on Youtube and they said to the science teacher to put on The Human Centipede on and she nearly did but decided not too, i'm glad she didn't now!

At a School? Just as well they didn't!

Just read about that Siberian Film, holy christ just as well I was advised only to read about it, I'd feel quite sick if I watched it, especially when I saw the bit about child abuse and necrophillia (which I had to look up, I'd no idea what it was never mind that it existed )

I don't agree that the centipede is watched by murderers etc, if you think that of the audience, what about Tom Six himself? There's probably a lot of people like me who have watched it and expected something a little bit different.

Looking on that Wiki link, anyone seen at the bottom that there is a parody, The Human Sextipede? The description on that sound's like some strange demented comedy, but if it's a parody it's probably done in a light way...who knows :-?

You made the right choice with A Siberian Film I'd say. Was round at a mates house and he put it on, couldn't watch it. Regarding the other film I mentioned though, Old Boy, it is a really good film with a rather disturbing story line. Not a horror at all though in the traditional sense.

I actually thought the first Saw film was quite good. The follow ups however were just Hollywood torture porn for all intents and purposes.

I'm not really in to that kind of film but I would agree with you on that, I thought the idea was pretty good. Tried watching a few of the sequels and just turned them off.

Apart from Human Centipede which creeps me out just reading about it.

I have a incredibly strong dislike for the Saw series.

You should watch the Sotuh Park parody of it. Brilliant stuff.

Ah, need to put in a correction I'm afraid. It wasn't Saw, it was Hostel.

My apologies.

I don't tend to watch these things - read a few horror books but not keen on the gory stuff.
