This afternoon I was pleased(!) to see 150273 turn up on a Nottingham - Leeds service, in place of a 158. Fortunately I didn't intend on travelling on it.

I'm led to believe that Pacer units are banned from the Erewash valley, is this correct? Also, is there any reason why a 150 could not operate this service in place of a 158?

150s regularly do the service so no there is no reason why they cant.

It is not that they are banned, they have never been cleared and Northern do not intend doing it. One of the few pacer free Northern routes. (i know there are others!)
