At the moment I have an interview with London Underground for a Customer Service Assistant (station assistant). Can anyone out there tell me if it is now acceptable to be red/green colour blind as a station assistant? I was offered the position in the mid '90s but failed the medical based on that. But have heard from different people that they have since relaxed the rules for station assistants. Can anyone confirm this? Have heard different things from different people. I've also been told that the test they do is now different than the one they gave previously, so hoping that I'll be able to pass this one a little more easily in any case. Not looking to be a train operator or work on the track. Just customer service within a station.

Not sure of the LU specifically but you may find that mainline train companies will accept persons with a mild form of colour blindness (or the proper term, colour deficiency).
