If you travel on a train where you are eligible for Delay Repay are the train company you travel with supposed to make you aware that you are able to make a claim?
Today I got the 1441 from Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen which was due to arrive in Aberdeen at 1715. Due to signalling issues just outside Glasgow the train ended up being 70 minutes late at Dundee and then ran non stop to Aberdeen and caught up 10 minutes being 60 minutes down on arrival.
When the train was drawing into Aberdeen station the guard/conductor/inspector read out the normal script about making sure you had all personal belongings with you and to make sure you had your ticket as barriers were in operation but not a peep about keeping your ticket for Delay Repay. Last time I had a lengthy delay it was on a Virgin train and the train manager told everyone over the PA to keep hold of tickets and get a form so you could claim money back.
Just wondering if there is any sort of fixed protocol about this?
