A friend of the family is hoping to visit this island. Has any forum member been there and can give any advice on how to access the island and what might be worthwhile seeing there.

I've been many times. You can get a boat from the quay in East Looe most days from Easter until the end of September (tomorrow!) - depending on the tide. It's a pleasant day out but not much to see if you're not in to birds(of the feathered variety!)/wildlife .

I have just telephoned my friend with your kind reply and as he is at Mevagissey until mid-October, he may, subject to tides and weather, be able to make this visit on Monday. He is indeed a "twitcher".
Timed it just right then! I hope they manage to get there and have a good day. If the tide is against them, theu could always make a start on the Looe Valley Rail Ale Trail.
