This book has finally appeared - I've been away this weekend and got home to find my copy, which I ordered through the RailUK Amazon Shop (http://astore.amazon.co.uk/rafo04-21), has arrived. I've not had chance to look at it yet but will report in the next few days,

I know that you will have been most careful to examine all aspects of the publication, but your statement of "the next few days" regarding your book report has certainly one that I have been waiting for since you made this posting in the middle of June.

I'm surprised there's no official errata for this. Or even unofficial. There are always going to be (minor) errors, and it's nice to be able to know where they are.

One error in the new 13th edition is that the ELL extension between Dalston Junction and Highbury is still shown as being projected/under construction and due to open in 2011.

Drop them a line saying that you were most surprised not to have seen this matter shown correctly in the 13th edition and ask them for a reassurance that it will be shown in the 14th edition when it is published.

There's a part of HS2 missing, as well - the bit where the Leeds part of the Y comes off is missing. Presumably there's a whole junction missing. Page 41/42 (go up to 53 to verify that the line does continue).

I appear to have misplaced my 13th edition and have a query to ask anyone with this current edition if two mistakes on the 12th edition has been corrected. The publishers had been written to with regard to this matter.

On page 37 of the 12th edition on the Southminster branch line there are two stations that were renamed about 2007, but on the map and the index, they had not been updated:-
South Woodham Ferrers is still referred to as Woodham Ferrers
North Farnbridge is still referred to as Farnbridge

Rather than having to go out and buy another copy of the 13th edition, can any forum member let me know if those two mistakes had been corrected.

Thanks for that. I shall contact them in writing, enclosing copies of all past correspondance and asking if the 14th edition when printed will ensure this matter is attended to.

I have just received a letter from the Publications Manager stating that my letter has been forwarded on to the author and asking that he ensures the 14th edition will be incorporating all the amendments requested.
