Sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere to screw up those train times. There would be a lot of very unhappy customers if ATW reduced the service frequency between south wales and manchester to 2 hourly unless of course those trains which didnt go to Manchester went to Liverpool instead.

Certainly the route is one of the most profitable out of the whole Wales & Borders franchise

You're a driver? If so, bad news - the missing trains seem to be back today . Must have been a glitch in the system. Phewwww.....

Hey - if he is a driver, you can normally have a hot coffee in your hand on Crewe P6 before the guard has even released the doors. Then again, one at Piccadilly and one there, you'd probably need the loo by Newport!

Sorry guys, but if you note under my name it says "A Bobby", and with the way the timetable is at the moment getting to the loo or even getting a meal can be a bit "rushed" on a day shift down here in The Marches!!

What's so special about the Welsh Marches line anyway? One of my favourites and I must have done it about 6 times this summer... but not the busiest or most important rail link eh?

I was just making conversation really. Though I am genuinely interested in how, as a route, it compares to, say North Transpennine, the Hope Valley or perhaps North Wales coast. And, say, the WCML.... Not a jibe at you or your job or owt :P
