METRO sign on Derby bus stop

This is on a bus stop not far out from Derby City Centre. I assume Derby City Council bought some second hand bus stops? Correct me if anyone knows better

Slightly different, but I once noticed a temporary bus stop being used during road works in the Hull area with the SYPTE logo on it. I can only assume the contractors were based in South Yorkshire somewhere.

On the other side there is an Arriva service 29 timetable, the nextbus.mobi text code, qr code and NFC tag and a bit of graffiti. It's not far down from my street.

Once when heading towards Merseyside by road I remember seeing a Cheshire CC bus stop on one side of the road and a Merseytravel bus stop directly opposite it. I can't remember exactly where that was though.

Wouldn't call that pedantry! The up-side-down thing just proves it's a second hand timetable case, and possibly entire shelter. Might as well sell them on if you don't need them! Derby get a cheaper shelter, Leeds or wherever don't wastefully scrap one.

In a lot of places, shelters are provided and maintained by the likes of Adshel (other bus shelter providers are available)

It is by no means unknown for shelters to be repaired (especially if it's a quick repair, e.g. following an accident / vandalism) with bits of the wrong council / PTE's shelters, which can manifest itself in an odd bit of a shelter being in the wrong corporate colour, or a timetable for somewhere miles away being left showing.

I'd be more inclined to expect an explanation along these lines than entire shelters being transplanted. (Although if the entire shelter is in METRO's corporate colours not Derby's then the latter is possible)

He ordered a West Yorkshire-shape 'M', in Merseytravel colours. Apparently the sign makers twice questioned the design, but the FNW manager was adamant he wanted it made.

The shelter is in Derby's colours though there are a few across the city in red and yellow.

I was in Skipton a couple of months ago and on the road near the rail station one of the bus stops still had a NBC Ribble flag on it.How long since ribble operated to Skipton?????

The shelter in the picture looks like a repainted WYPTE shelter (design from before the most recent ones) complete with the same style bench!

Could have been that the road is the border between the two. I know of a pair like that where one flag is NWM and the one opposite is Stagecoach Warwickshire. The road is the city boundary.
