At the moment i travel from Richmond via Highbury and Islington (using the pink card reader)to Northumberland Park changing at Tottenham Hale. Now both Tottenham Hale and Northumberland Park are in Zone 3, but i get charged for the Hale to Park portion, as these were not part of the original Oyster scheme.
Will this be brought into line with all stations in Zone 3 coming under the same fare when TFL take over the operating of the Enfield/Cheshunt and Chingford routes
A supplementry question is. If the Ex GE route stations be considered part of the Oyster zone 'family' wou;d pink transfer readers be installed at Seven Sisters and The Hale to enable 'not via Zone 1' farss to be calculated for those users starting their journeys north of these stations in Zones 4-6
Anyone working for TFL on here with any knowledgehave

The Mayor stated in an answer to questions about Crossrail fares that he would be responsible for setting fares on Crossrail routes and they would be priced on the LU/DLR basis. The London Overground routes have also adopted LU/DLR Oyster fares so it would be reasonable to expect that TfL will price the Liverpool Street - Enfield Town/Cheshunt/Chingford services in a similar way. However, as TfL won't be running the services via Tottenham Hale, it is quite possible that those will remain on the existing National Rail structure.

If the overall service pattern doesn't change significantly, there would be no reason to introduce them unless it could be argued that they are already required.

This is a bit hard to follow, but I'll give it a go...

This journey is Richmond to Northumberland Park, avoiding Zone 1, so that's a 2-4 journey priced at National Rail rate.

I expect your journey to reduce in price by 20p (at current rates) as it should go from being a National Rail priced fare, to a TfL priced fare, ie £2.50 down to £2.30 for a peak single (or, if you are lucky enough to commute off peak, the saving is a little more, £1.90 down to £1.50).

Edit: Since typing the above, I have realised you qualify for a 60+ Oyster pass, and you are asking if the whole journey will be covered by this pass when TfL takes over. I think the answer is: almost certainly yes. At present, the Northumberland Park to Tottenham Hale portion of your journey is only free after 0930.

Please mention this pass for any future queries you have, so we can ensure you get the right advice :)

Can you give an example origin & destination for a journey you have in mind?

I don't think pink readers are required at either Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale – at least, as someone who lives between the two lines that run north of those stations, I've never felt one is needed. What helps in this respect is that Tottenham Hale is an OSI (with a gate line on the tube side), so the Oyster system knows if someone has changed from train to tube there or vice-versa. The same is true at Walthamstow Central and Finsbury Park (albeit Finsbury Park has gates to NR, not LUL). Blackhorse Road and Highbury & Islington do already have pink route validators; TfL can then use some logic based on processes of elimination etc. to figure out where someone has travelled and interchanged.
