Uno route C1 Milton Keynes to Bedford

Uno have registered a new service C1 from Central Milton Keynes to Bedford. I'm told this is for Cranfield University - does anyone know if this is to be run as part of Northampton, part of Hertfordshire, or a new Cranfield/Bedford/MK operation? Also, there's no evidence of Grant Palmer cancelling the 45, so I'm guessing it replaces Souls route 62, but I really can't see the 45 standing up against Uno.

Any information anyone has would be most welcome.

Well I'd be amazed if it was run out of Hatfield - the dead mileage would be huge.

I'm sure it was mentioned on one thread that they had a potential allocation of 30 vehicles out of Northampton - that would make sense as a base rather than establish a third base.

Given UNO's trick with some of its HCC contracts expect a couple of early morning / late evening routes linking whichever base it is with MK or Bedford though......

The timetables are already up and there are none of those I can see. Most of the extra depot journeys make sense, i.e. Uno already run buses from Hatfield to Stevenage during the day, and buses from Hatfield to Luton during the day, so if they have to run a journey from Stevenage to Luton why not run it Hatfield - Stevenage - Luton?

Can't think of that many more they have at the moment though...!

Will be interesting, might have to go and see these new routes. I also wonder if I am allowed to buy the Uno day ticket in Hertfordshire and use it on this new route - all of the Northampton drivers accepted it up there so I hope so

They're on Traveline - just go to http://www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk then click Find a Timetable in the top bar, then just type Uno in the operator field and scroll to the bottom

So that's 3 new services then , I remember passing through a little while ago and seeing buses parked up I a yard opposite the uni site (dawsons/ Ventura sales spring to mind) maybe an out station there.
Looking at the timetables looks like a few buses are needed.

Three services? The only vosa I could find was for the C1...

There is also a C2 and a C10 as part of the same service.

Yeah I tried that. MK Council are normally excellent for advanced notice but they haven't clocked on to the upcoming changes to the 300 or the X5 yet either.

Glad the C10 is just one a day, I was worried we were going to lose the 40 for a moment.

C1 restores a couple of direct links for MK, namely Wooton and Kempston.

Seeing as the C1 is hourly, I'm not expecting the 45 to last very long.

Very similar to the 62 between MK and Cranfield but not serving the coachway? Also seems to be like a reinstatement of the old 157/158 which took the 'scenic' route between MK and Bedford (but mostly missing out Newport).

According to Traveline's map it goes go via the Coachway. But the timetable doesn't sit with that.

I'm assuming this replaces the 62, and the Souls Cranfield-Bedford route.

I wouldn't trust Traveline's maps 100% of the time, I think somewhere they even admit it is just guesswork between the stops! :P
