Hello... Ive recently passed my interview and have been invited to the assesment centre...

The information pack says I have
a verbal test
a ticket selling and checking test
a test of concentration
a role play excercise
a structured interview

Does anyone know if it is a SCAAT test or group bourdon???

Im really worried about the role play and structured interview to what is actually involved and what they are looking for?

Help>>> :D:D:D:D:D

It will normally be the Group Bourdon test.

The role play will probably involve fake money and someone buying some tickets and asking questions about something that you have been told about in advance or can look up on material provided, or would be expected to work out from what you have been told.

Hi ClaraBella Congrats on making it this far :D

I am attending the assessment centre on 4 July in Sheffield having attended the initial interview last week. I got the impression the interview was the structured interview (ie all the questions relating to how would you cope in x situation etc)so all thats left is the assessment day followed by medical, although I maybe wrong as didnt meet the line manager.

Hey,

firstly congrats on getting where you are. I also have an assessment day on the 4th but it's for Scotrail. The Group Bourdon test is confusing me! I tried the online test and my targets omitted seem really high yet when I see other scores on here their's is very low if any at all. To have nil targets omitted it would mean finishing the whole sheet which I find nearly impossible.

Have you came accross this?

The practice software doesn't work that way! The "targets omitted" are the ones you missed from the first cell on each sheet up to (and including) the last cell you reached on each sheet. To put it another way, if you manage to get half way down each sheet the software won't count correct targets beyond this point as omitted.

To put it even simpler, your number of omitted targets is exactly that! No more and no less than the ones you missed over the areas of the sheets you managed to cover.

If you're getting a high number here then check you fully understand the test - and you are actually marking the targets using UP ARROW and not just stepping over them. Targets you have marked will have a dotted red box around them. ;)

If you are practicing for the TPE assessment then print off sheets and do it on paper - which is very different to doing it on screen. TPE do the paper tests not on a computer.

Did the assessment today for conductor. passed everything, but they wouldnt let me do the group bourdon because I did this in april for trainee driver and got a borderline pass. Im still non the wiser today wether they will accept the result. I believe the marking criteria is different for conductor and trainee driver. So will just have to wait and see

I was there from 9am til 2pm and yeh I got told at the end. They mark the tests throughout the day. If you fail one they don't waste your time they tell you straight away.

Hi JAY MC 99, have you received your pack from TPE. I was sent a booklet which had all the assessments in to practice. You could always try and print screen from the pc version to practice. Good luck. :)

I have an interview for Glasgow next week. Any advice on the questions? Are they based on hypothetical situations or are they looking for experience of dealing with similar situations, etc?

Any advice gratefully appreciated! :D
