That cab view thing is one i don't use anymore, just when I'm desperate.
For those of you who don't know what CV is, it's a simulator where ashley greenup had managed to get a simulator to run a video/DVD of a route with a cab, and you drive. It is almost totally inflexable though, which is why I don't use it.
As for the MS-DOS programs, they are from Ashley too. He was the first train sim person I came across after MSTS, and so before simsig. It's basically the same as simsig, just alot more inflexable. You don't get TC/signal failiures, you don't see the signal aspects, the signal blocks seem inaccurate. They are very basic, you type in the headcode, and then the 2 letter code for the route, and the computer sets the route. Thinking about it, they operate in a similar manor to NX panels.
The reading one is a free download, as he as got a new generation of software, all though, compared to the free simsig, and even the payware of sigcent, they ain't that good to be honest, they were in their day, but as i have got to know other programs (BVE, MSTS, simsig) it is clear that they have passed into history with the advance. Even with most recent productions from ashley it is still clear to see how they are still heavily MS-DOS based (You can have them on MAC's too IIRC)
