The android touch screen key pad is an absolute pile of crud.

You have no control over where the curser is. You have no control over which bit of the screen you are looking at. There is no way to move the screen without also moving the cursor.

In short, a useless pile of whoopsey.

Swype is your friend. Now costs 65p but well worth paying for. Has full edit controls as well as being IMHO the best typing app out there.

I have no connections with them, just been using it for a long time on several devices!

I use SwiftKey myself, which has optional cursor keys.

I would like to know exactly what keypad is being talked about as many phones have their own, not a standard Android one. And the latest Google one has a Skype style system as well as many configurable options.

The way to move the cursor also varies from phone to phone. Some will magnify the screen to let you drag the cursor around, but not all.
