More details have now been released about the heritage train runs for the Rickmansworth Festival on 19th May.

Both the LT Museum's 1938 stock and the preserved A stock (I believe one or both of the RATs without the 5th coach?) will be running trips throughout the day between Amersham and Harrow-on-the-Hill. This is the first outing of the year for the '38 stock and the first outing of the A stock since entering preservation following the Farewell Tour on the 29th September last year.

Times and prices are included below, and tickets can be booked on the LT Museum website (ltmuseum.co.uk) until 3pm on 17 May or via the museum booking office on 020 7565 7298. There will also be tickets available on the day from Amersham, Rickmansworth and Harrow-on-the-Hill.

Personally I think I'll give the A Stock a miss as I don't think it'll quite live up to that last tour but hope to take the opportunity to make my first journey on the '38 Stock, and a nice precursor to Steam Back on the Met the next weekend. Intending to spend most of the day out and about photographing the runs though.

I hope to be in the Amersham area that day, but I have absolutely no idea at what time - hopefully I will get on a '38 Stock run, but I'm happy to settle for another go on the A Stock. I actually meant to post details on here, as I haven't heard all that many people talking about it (that could just be me) - thanks for doing that!

The ticket prices may be higher than Oyster fares for the same routes, but they don't seem ridiculously extortionate - especially not for the '38 journeys.

You're welcome! Likewise, I've not heard many people talk about the runs this year, although that could be due to the fact that there are the steam runs a week later this year? Not sure, as they've been pretty quiet too... I'll probably end up doing an A Stock run (likely one of the one-way trips) but it's not an aim: my last memory of an A is the fast run through Neasden on the farewell trip, and part of me wants to keep it that way...

I believe they're about average for this annual trip out, although slightly inflated (as with most events, it seems) for the 150th I guess.

Had a trip on the 10.40 Harrow on the Hill-Amersham for a bargain 5er. Good crowd including a few Hoxton hipster types in vintage clothing. The Ricky festival was great as usual with the lovely afternoon weather and that great Ska band at the lock stage to end the day.

I did a few runs, was great to see A Stock running again :)

Another thing I noticed was the sticker in the window of one of the 1938 Stock coaches, from the last run on the Northern line on the 19th of May 1988 - 25 years to the day ago!

That was its original number, but it was renumbered as 11012 in 1983 when it replaced the original 11012, which was damaged in a shunting accident.

Thanks, looking at it now I should have known something was amiss!
