Redhill - Charing Cross - Hastings - Ashford International - Bromley South (via Maidstone East) - Sevenoaks (via Bat and Ball) - Tonbridge - Strood (via Maidstone West) - Charing Cross (via Woolwich and Tanners Hill flydown) - Redhill

Are there any cheaper tickets than Redhill - zones 1-6 TC, then a BZ6 - Rye and a BZ6 - East Farleigh?

£15 + £23 + £10.70 to beat!

Return using routeing point Epsom
Fares check here: no 'Not Via London' fare published from Epsom, but the 'Any Permitted' from Epsom is cheaper than from Box Hill, so Epsom is a valid routeing point

There seems to be some good ideas here for cheap days out in the south. After using some of the above ideas and searching for fares I was surprised to find that an Off Peak Day Return from Redhill to Ham Street (not London) is only £15 and is valid via a number of routes.
Last month I had great day out from East Croydon all the way to Weymouth (via Barnham) for only £23.

I'm staying in South London again next week and wondered if anyone can come up with any other good cheap bargains for days out. If possible, like the Weymouth trip from starting points within Zones 1-6 that wouldn't cost too much to get to to begin the journey.

Have you thought of Southern's £16.50 All Network Downlander? It must be booked online at least 2 days in advance of travel.

Yep, I've used that before (along with a Tonbridge to Ashford single) to do most of the Southern network!

Only bit I need to do now is Horsham to Dorking...

I reckon that Ham Street one might be nice for some days out and about!

Yes, had one of those on a number of occasions. Also used a 7 Day Daysave ticket a couple of years ago which is fantastic value for a weeks travel on Southern services. I therefore am very familiar with almost all of Southerns routes. It's South Eastern and South West trains areas that I am not so familiar with but can never find any cheap tickets to cover their routes. That's why the Redhill to Ham Street Ticket seems attractive to me as I've never been on the line from Tonbridge to Hastings as only done Hastings via Eastbourne in the past.

Have a look at fares such as Brighton - Dover Not Via London, Brighton - Broadstairs Not Via London, both valid from Bromley South et al. £20

Hi re that Brighton Dover £20 fare do you get an extra 1/3rd off with a Network Railcard? I was thinking of doing a nice circular tour of Beckenham Junction -East Croydon (tramlink) -Brighton-Appledore (cycle to Folkestone or somewhere near) then back to one of the Beckenham Stations. Would that ticket be ok for this journey?
