Yeovil Jct Rail Centre

I was travelling to Exeter last week on SWT for the first time in a couple of years.

When approaching Yeovil jct from the London end, they used to be a rake of about 5 old MK2 or MK3 carriages from Virgin & Anglia trains, they were not there this time. I just wondered what happened to them?
I did notice though 1 maroon MK 1 or 2 coach, I suppose that is used for the odd shuttle service by the rail centre?

The coaches which were ex Virgin and FGW, moved to two heritage railways. 3 of the coaches (I think) went north to the Weardale Railway, the rest were moved to the Dartmoor Railway. All were, and still are, owned by BARS (who run freight group DCR).

Yeah pretty much what Boothby97 said although i believe there were 7 of them, i did have a nose inside them and they were in quite a state, i was very surprised when they were taken away for further use.

The coach is indeed a Mk1, it belongs to Jeremy Hoskins and is on loan to YRC, its used during busy events such as santa specials etc or when the weathers rubbish, other times they just use brake vans to give rides.

Also as you may or maynot be aware, inside the shed are two steam locos, two diesel shunters and D400/50050 'Fearless'.

No, I meant 3 went to Weardale, and 4 went to Dartmoor. There was definitely more than 3. Apologies for the confusion
