Can anyone tell me if anything can currently be seen moving on the Old Dalby test track? And if you can find out anymore?

I have had a look at realtimetrains.co.uk and see a near daily provisional path for a train to Amersham. Which I assume is for towing a train to the metropolitan line. From where it can move onward on electric power. I take this as a hint S7 or S8's are still rolling off the production line and heading to Old Dalby for testing. But, actual movement along the test track are not available.

I think there is some testing taking place, as I received a report on a gen group a week or two ago, reporting one of the Class 08s shunting S-Stock down the test track (I think from Asfordby to Old Dalby)
This site may be of some use to you, http://www.old-dalby.com/

On another note, I have heard a report that a/some Class 377/6s will be tested on the line, although I'm not 100% this will happen, as the only times I have seen for Class 377/6 moves are those down to Selhurst.
Thanks, Sam

there is still some tube stock being tested at Old Dalby, every week or two there is a move using 2 pairs of class 20's (one at each end) and two barrier tanks which go south to Amersham area.

The S8 won't be going there any more. They are already bedded in. Its the S7 that are going there as the build runs into 2015 for those units.

There's no booked 377/6 paths but the first unit id expected to leave Derby for commissioning in London during May.

Short video of the stock on pre delivery test i took last year(4th December) at SERCO Rail test Old Dalby test track while ona first aid course up there.

The stock is stabled in the extensive former Asfordby coal mine site and then taken up each day to the electrified 4 rail section at Old Dalby Access to the Asfordby site is unrestricted although there is a security lodge but they never seem to man it during the day as they are many busisness on there. The tracvk is fenced off from the site
There is also a footbridge running across the tracks west of the stabling buildings to Holwell works which serves a public right of way and gives good view of the sidings

Tube Stock have not visited Old Dalby, the '09 Stock went direct from Derby to London.
Surface S7 Stock are current being tested as the last production S8 has finally been delivered.
