0642 from Cambridge on a Saturday is booked a 156 which then does the East Suffolk Line for the rest of the day.

I think the 6.42 from Cambridge to Ipswich is operated by a class 156 unit. Is that the one you mean?

Definitely 0823 from Sheringham. There was a period about 7 or 8 years ago when it was an 0846 departure from Sheringham. I think it was when One first came in, the change only lasted six months or so.

It is official now. Traincrew have been issued with operating plan for door release & platform positioning etc. Will only be used on the Lowestoft/Yarmouth routes. Diagramming will have to be controlled due to the low availability of 47 trained drivers.

I.e if for example 170271 arrived into Norwich from Cambridge at 16.30 would it return to Cambridge or another stop? And would it return on the next stop back or would another unit operate this service?

Norwich - Cambridge services turn around very quickly, in about 5 mins, due to the entire line being worked by only 3 170s.

The Norwich Cambridge trains have a slightly longer turn around than 5. They are almost always 3 car 170s. They are timetabled to arrive in Norwich at xx.30 and depart xx.40, that'll be the same unit. The exceptions are the few slower trains that call at Spooner Row, Eccles Road, Harling Road, Lakenheath and or Shippea Hill (or a combination of those) which arrive at xx.30 and depart xx.35.

At Cambridge they are normally timetabled to arrive at xx.59 on the public timetable and, again with the same unit, leave at xx.12, with a few exceptions.

2 car 170s SHOULD do Ipswich - Cambridge and a couple of Ipswich - Lowestoft services, but at the moment everything has fallen apart. I was at Norwich on Thursday, and 156419 was doing the honours on the 1540 NRW-CBG.

As SprinterMan says it is a little up in the air. Norwich Cambridge 'should' always be 3 car 170s but 2 car 170s do happen and 156s too (although that is rarer).

The East Suffolk line is scheduled as a mix of 170s (2 and 3 car) and 156/3s and Ipswich Cambridge/Peterborough is normally 170s.

But yea, anything seems to go at the moment, I had a 3 car 170 to Sheringham yesterday, which is very rare.
