On the 95 yesterday lunchtime, going through Lundin Links and an inspector gets on. In almost 20 years of fairly regular bus travel all over Fife I think this is only the second time I have seen a ticket inspector on the bus. The last time I must have been Primary School age, so about 15 years ago!

When the schools are closed for half term do any step entrance buses work on weekday and Saturday normal Fife services or are they grounded for the duration until such time as schools reopen? Just curious to know as some places see a lot of activity whilst other locations are barren. Thanks...

Saturdays not really, PS ( still does 36 and 38or39)

School holidays its pot luck since there may do work on the buses since there have a wee bit less PVP, but again I have seen plenty of volvo out during the day.

Does anyone know why the Fife Dayrider/Megarider+ includes all of Fife, Dundee, Edinburgh, Kinross, Stirling, Falkirk, even Livingston.... but not Perth? Seems a strange omission.

Stirling - St Andrews 23 bus yesterday was a r reg Olympian ! Not sure if thats rare but was expecting a single decker .

I also seen a asn old bus depot with Fife Scottish signs still there , Leven i think.

That is very rare. I thought it had to be a single, because of a low bridge at Stirling. would have loved a trip on that...

£27 for a megarider...

£27 is still cheap as chips for the area you can travel around compared to other companies.

Does anyone know why the Fife Dayrider/Megarider+ includes all of Fife, Dundee, Edinburgh, Kinross, Stirling, Falkirk, even Livingston.... but not Perth? Seems a strange omission.

Its because that is where the Boundary are. Just to point out you cant actually travel around Dundee on that ticket either, the Fife Mega/Day plus is only valid on service direct services to Dundee city centre and hospital, to and From Fife.

If you wish to travel into Perth from fife you can buy a day ticket: Tayside mega/day rider: Gives unlimited travel throughout Dundee & Angus, Perth and Kinross, into Fife on services 35, 36 and 56 only, and into Stirling on services 19 and 47 only.

Double decker used to operate this route all the time before the crash, since there were techo. There do pop up every time to time. ( so it must have been his lucky day)

First time on 23 so didn't know if it was rare:roll: The only other 23 i seen was a e300.

Yes thats the depot i seen , must of got mixed up with Kirkcaldy. Looked disused when i seen it but surprised that in that street view pic its still active.

also an e400 double decker with the '57 dundee - blairgowie - perth' branding was floating about arbroath for the past few days, wondering there has been a swap going on?

OK thanks I take it after Easter than that some olympians are likely to be out on non schoolday weekdays depending on where you go in Fife. If any work in Leven that doesn't mean any will appear in Cowdenbeath I suppose. Would the Rennies Amazon bus still run in school holidays?

Yes Rennies bus still has to operate since its reg to them. No16 in Cowdenbeath is Olympian, pure pot luck what comes out to play as there say.

Even today: 337 PS was on the X54 today, and still is.... it should be on its way to Dundee the leave at 1850

The afternoon 56 from Cowden to Kinross is more than likely to be an Olympian at the moment. The Amazon afternoon bus has, in my experience, always been an Ollie, not sure what it will be if/when the Ollies are removed from service as it cooincides with Rennies afternoon school work.

I am curious about what happened on 4 February as 16177 left Dunfermline after 1430 on the late running 1425 to High Valleyfield and there was no sign of a Rennies olly for the Amazon albeit 16101 appeared around 4pm and parked up. The next day 16115 did appear for the Amazon run.

I also noted in that week 16114 parked up at Kirkcaldy bus station and 16098 at Glenrothes bus station so unsure as to what they would have done both being Rennies.

It is a question now of timing my next visit at a good time and I'm deliberating whether it should again be when the schools are in session or whether it may be better to visit when the schools are closed because if a bus is on a diagram it is less likely to be removed with no school diagram to cover.

I've noticed the last few weeks that after the schools runs are done, Aberhill are likely to send pretty much aything out on any run. Noticed Ollies on 48/49 and 8 this week, a B10 coach on 48 this afternoon, also coaches seen on 8, X4 and 95 in the last few weeks. Dart (I think) on the 41A from Cupar this afternoon aswell. Not seen any PS's recently around Leven or Kirkcaldy though.

Is the 1105 36 still a PS? Hope so, I should be on that tomorrow.

I would expect they'll get an interior refurb of some sort. No doubt the agreement with First over the Wigan sale would include something about vehicle interiors being 'Stagecoach'-ised.

to be fair those seats are leather and from photos I can see dont have any first things on them :?

Indeed, but the floor will probably have to be relaid out of First colours and I'd imagine the poles will get a paint.

I could be wrong, but when the sale of Wigan was announced, Stagecoach were going to re-equip the interiors to their spec. It would make sense to, the purple colours of the poles etc don't go too well with Stagecoach's livery.

A 99 Taylink branded was on the 23 today, although the seats are not leather I find them more comfartable.

B7 on the 48/49 again yesterday, and a Solo on the 8 all day. Also seen a Solo on the 99 in Dundee on Monday.

In Edinburgh the city-bound Queensferry Street stop has been moved to Charlotte Square, the Fife-bound stop is now further up Queensferry Street, towards Dean Bridge.
