A few suggestions:
Smethwick Rolfe Street to The Hawthorns
Depends on connections at Smethwick Galton Bridge.

Thanks to the one-directional operation of the Wirral line loop, Liverpool Central-Liverpool Lime Street would be another- train requires a change at Moorfields or James Street- the distance walked to change at Moorfields is probably not much shorter than just walking the whole way!
Penge East to Penge West looks fairly quick on foot but a pain on the train:
Penge East - Beckenham Junction - Crystal Palace - Norwood Junction.
Especially as James Street platform 3 is closed for refurbishment, leaving a choice between taking the lifts at Moorfields and changing at Birkenhead Hamilton Square. Thanks to the one-directional operation of the Wirral line loop, Liverpool Central-Liverpool Lime Street would be another- train requires a change at Moorfields or James Street
The section from Dee Marsh to Shotton is slow, but it's not normally that slow. I haven't seen a train actually stop at Hawarden Bridge, but the trains which run through go comfortably faster than I can cycle on the flat.Hawden bridge to shotton low level is faster than staying aboard going to high level than walking back down i walked past hawden bridge as the train pulled in walked over the bridge the train only past me as i got to the other side.
Probably down to that line being generally terrible though.
The winner, though, is surely Mallaig-Kyle of Lochalsh. A 27-mile walk that's still quicker than the quickest train-only trip.

How about Harrow on the Hill to Harrow and Wealdstone.
Its about 15 mins brisk walk.
Going via NR it would, I think, be five trains
1. To Marylebone
2 To Banbury
3 To Coventry
4 To Watford Junction
5 To Harrow and Wealdstone.
I doubt if it could be done in less than 5 hours.
ETA that you could combine 4 and 5 via a LM slow but that would likely increase the time taken
Manchester Victoria to Manchester Piccadilly?
) ?Tanshelf and Monkhill are easy as they're consecutive stops on the Wakefield - Knottingley service. To get to Baghill, you'd have to go Wakefield Kirkgate, Westgate and then down to Moorthorpe to catch one of teh two trains a day that run to Baghill.

I haven't noticed it (so apologies if I've overlooked) but I reckon Ipswich - Derby Road is probably quicker to walk than the train which has to run via Westerfield.
Doubt it, it is a fair hike across town, especially if The Dove is open on the way.
I think an Olympic sprint rather than a brisk walk is necessary for Wakefield Westgate to Kirkgate (6 mins by train).
As for Ipswich to Derby Road (11 mins by train) a greyhound might be able to do it but I don't think a human could.
Does anyone remember a programme called 'Map Man' presented by Nicholas Crane (later of 'Coast' fame)? There was an episode about the London Underground and he timed trains between two pairs of adjacent stations (one in central London, one in the suburbs) versus walking between them.
