A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Coming into Manchester Piccadilly on Saturday, I noticed a pair of London Midland liveried units were parked up on the sidings on the other side of the running line to the locomotive depot, near to where the building that once carried a sign that stated....Le Eurostar habite ici

Does anyone know of the reason why these two units were parked there ?

According to posts on wnxx it was 2 x 323 units using the wheel lathe that is also based on that side by the old Eurostar shed.

Saw two lots of doubled up LM 323s today - the ones parked at Picc and two zipped past us on the centre road at Crewe while we were stationary.

Would have been parked at Longsight,
And they passed running empty to Soho
Thanks, Sam

TPE 350's will be supplied in a basecoat as there is non certainty who will operate the franchise it is not cost effective to slap full TPE colours onto the trains as yet.

True, I presume you mean the TPX 350s will carry LM Colours
Thanks, Sam

Supposedly, an existing LM 350/2 will be used for TPE training before the new fleet is delivered.

TPE stated last year in Modern Railways that LM are lending a 350 to TPE for driver training ahead of th first 350/4 beind delivered. LM have also confirmed this. Doubt it will be a 350/2 as they'll likely want a 110mph unit, something the 350/2 aren't.

Saw another LM 323 today parked at Longsight, same place as the previous ones (near the ex-Eurostar depot). I couldn't see if there there was another as i only saw one and didn't get chance to see which/what number it was but as i said it was on the same side of the depot that the previous LM 323s went to.
