On Saturday we are planning on taking the 10.01 Moorthorpe to York service. Then, about 2 hours later travel on to Harrogate. Spend a few hours there and then travel back via Leeds/Wakefield to Moorthorpe.

Two adults travelling together. No Railcards

NRE site comes up with £27.50 per person. Seemed rather steep to me,
so I looked at:-

Singles, Pontefract Baghill > York, 2 x £8.60
Singles, York > Horsforth, 2 x £10.60
1 x Family Day Rover £11.00

Total £49.40 (£24.70 each)

Advice would be appreciated for more "reasonable" fares for this journey.

Thankyou in anticipation.

Purchase an SDR Any Permitted Moorthorpe to Harrogate for £15.50 each, this will allow you BOJ at York on your outward journey.

Total cost : £31.00 for 2 adults

Key :

SDR - Anytime Day Return
BOJ - Break of Journey

Even better, buy a Route Via Leeds Anytime Day Return for £10.70 each and excess whichever portion you require to go via York to Route Any Permitted. This way you only pay half the difference, ie. £2.40 each.

Total: £13.10 each.
