Anyone know what loco this is to be?

I know that the last couple of times have been with a class 90 and 86???

Have you got a link? If it is a normal route learner, I think they are normally operated by class 67's.

Was a 90 2 weeks ago.

Was cancelled last week but opentraintimes said it was booked for a 75mph diesel... Don't know if that was in error.

My mistake. I was thinking of East Coast who use 67's for route learning!

Now it's showing as having been cancelled at Edinburgh. This is too dramatic for me, I'll have to have a lie down...

90047. Thankfully my shot came out OK. Would have preferred an 86, but beggars can't be choosers.

It left Edinburgh 18 early today, wonder if it'll stop at Newcastle or make it all the way to York this time?

Freight liner 90's are being used between edb and ncl for route learning for TPE diversion work to come later in the year. TPE use freight liner drivers north of Carlisle but with the wcml being partly closed some north route TPE trains will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh instead, again using freightliner drivers. To say TPE Newcastle crews are not happy about the arrangements would be an understatement!
