No, this isn't a gauntlet laid down to the railway preservation movement, nor to the model manufactures - but a whimsical "what if today's franchises were around at the time of the Big Four railway companies". Such as:

Gresley P2 2-8-2 in 'Grand Central' black/orange, complete with chrome boiler bands and GC 'art deco' tender emblem.

Gresley A4 'Streak' in 'East Coast' white/silver, with the purple trimmings.

Bullied 'Spamcan' in 'SouthEast Trains' principal express colours, as per cl.444.

What else? Your move...
