Looking for new experience/qualification

hi there, i am new to the train driver position, have been passed out and working for eurotunnel for the past 6 months. obviously i am contracted to be employed with them for at least 2 years, which is fine by me as i enjoy my job, but i would like to learn to drive or gain experience in other trains. i have quite a lot of time off with eurotunnel so have plenty of hours i could put in somewhere. does anyone know if any train operator would offer any sort of training or anything like this? would even be willing to put in hours unpaid?

None, I cannot see any company training you unless you are employed by them. The only place you may get some is a heritage railway. Eurotunnel have different rules and procedures to mainline as well so I doubt whether your current qualifications would render you experience even if a TOC alowed it.
