390029 arrived in London Euston today in a brand new advertising livery for the Manchester Internation Festival with pictures from the opera "Monkey: journey to the West". There were many professional photographers and a few enthusiasts there getting pictures of the train on its arrival before it left for the 1005 service to Manchester Piccadilly, where it was greeted by people from the Manchester International Festival handing out flyers to passengers.

Plenty of pictures on my Fotopic :)

Thankyou :) you can't really see the full extent of how amazingly cool it is from my pictures. It's much better seeing it properly.

I was caught of guard with it. I just went to phot the sleeper with my phone and there it was

Nice pics.

That would be nice, Joe. I wouldn't mind photting that somewhere this week...:p

having seen Snapper's pics, it's reinforced my opinion that it should be removed (scrubbed, peeled, burn't or overpainted; I ain't bothered) - it looks awful. Legalised graffiti.

My thoughts exactly. I suppose VXC are being paid to display this; a little bit of the recent massive investment of the route being recouped.

I think it looks good. It makes people look. People that would normally just walk straight past are stopping to take pictures with their phones.

And besides, if you don't like it, then it's gonna be removed soon anyway

VXC must be quite happy with themselves then ;) Not that I'm deliberately reading your posts in detail or anything...

It may not look brilliant, but at least it's a bit different - coz apart from the names and numbers, there's really absolutely no difference between the Pendolinos, so....

Another piccy here

I recon it will promote more graffitti
TO qoute Don Burgess (Ta for the above pic)
Newly vinyl covered 390029 made it on to a Glasgow turn today. Seen departing Oxenholme for the north this morning, the ridiculous graffiti style effect will only encourage the spray can wielding hoards.

The Monkey has escaped!

390 029 is now being hauled by an UID 57 towards the S&C, some 65 late, on the 09:03 Euston to Glasgow Central via the S&C.

I was so distracted by the Pendo's livery, that I forgot to see which 57 was hauling it!

Kind Regards

Not mine though, as I said before, taken by Don Burgess

IMHO, all his photos are of high quality and around my local area
As a result I visit his site every day and download new pictures - they frequently star as my desktop background!
