Oh it's brilliant!!!! Lukaku scores after a break from West Brom, poor pass to Lukaku but superb first touch and he finishes with ease.

0-2. Amazing.

5 minutes added time, although reckon they'll hold on. Foster or McAuley deserve man of the match although of course it always goes to the home team

Foster must get it. Morison has done ok, they seem to struggle a little without Gera though.

The night isn't over without a Suarez booking. Great result for West Brom tonight.

Indeed a great result for WBA, not a good result for my fantasy team though

We call Steven Gerrard "Erm" as he constantly says this when he is being interviewed.

It was 0-0 at the time. That decision changed the game. Wigan lost their heads.

It took me some time to fathom your logic, but I think I now follow your reasoning. Manchester United are awarded a "doubtful" penalty in the first five minutes...then proceed to miss it. Was this one of "Fergie's" many cunning plans to shock the opposition by instructing his players to deliberately miss a penalty knowing that this would shock the opposition into total shambles for the rest of the match ?

It was how poor the decision was that changed the game. How can you play against that? We've seen it often from Manchester United players, Ashley Young is a culprit as is Welbeck. Like I said, had it been Suarez there would have been up roar. I don't understand the "doubtful" penatly comment however, same when Joe said "dive". Have you actually seen the incident? It was sickening, only Manchester United fans could claim it wasn't a penalty, madness!

Yes we heard it, yes it happens every year. But it's Milwall against Leeds so no action has been taken, odd.

I remember a comment on here saying that Millwall have done loads to curb their hooligan element wheras Leeds have done nothing.

Yes, because Leeds are always at fault aren't they. As it's Diouf it probably doesn't count as racism. Sad, imagine if this was Rio Ferdinand getting this abuse...

This was Millwalls initial reaction in which they deny anything happened wanted to take legal action against the allegations http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...e-of-leeds-uniteds-elhadji-diouf-8327406.html

It's obvious they carried out NO investigation and attempted to brush the issue under the carpet. It's about time serious sanctions were taken against Millwall.

Here is the damning evidence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plbg7jRKGr0&sns=tw Sorry, but that club is scum. There was NO arrests, Millwall have banned NO fans. Like I said, it's Leeds United.

Sky Sports News came to Elland Road to do a similar racism report, they left with nothing....

Well then, young football pedant and pundit, you know that the last thing that you can accuse me of is being a Manchester United supporter....:D....I have enough to worry about with Oldham Athletic and with Hyde...<(<(

I really am impressed with your ability to totally and utterly espouse all things that are Leeds United, yet to have your full-time weekly judgemental column on this thread upon matters that concern a football team who play in a higher league than your favoured team.

Perhaps I should take a leaf out of your book, with my Oldham Athletic background in League 1 and look upwards to the Championship and find a team there that I can bring weekly judgements upon, on this forum. Now then, is there a certain "Yorkshire" team in the Championship who are worthy of my acerbic wit...:D:D:D

I just comment on current events in football, such as last nights Liverpool v West Brom match.

And the fact that Manchester United are going to win the Premier League. Like I said, they deserve to win without a doubt. The competition simply has no answer for them. However, it would be wrong not to point out other factors that have gone in their favour. Why is that such a problem?

I make plenty of comment on my own team and it's always honest. As I attend my teams matches (including tonight at Boro) I see for myself how rubbish they actually are.

I called it a 'dive' because it looked like he went down easily even if the goalkeeper appeared to make contact with him. Equally he could have just been put off balance because of the speed he was running at. I would call it debatable even though it looked pretty theatrical.

Regardless, it was in the 5th minute of a match and the penalty was missed. Wigan, far from being shell shocked by the referee's decision as you claim went on to play extremely well in the first half of the match, almost scoring a couple and went in to half time level. Only in the second half did Wigan tire allowing United to score four times.

If a missed penalty in a 4-0 victory against Wigan last September is one of your key incidents that went in favour of United this season then it sure doesn't seem United got away with much this season.

Another thing.

You keep bringing up examples of fans of other clubs behaving badly, like Millwall in the last few posts. A couple of days ago you pointed the finger at Wycombe fans even though it was their goalkeeper who was attacked (by Gillingham fans).

I get that you want to defend Leeds but who are you defending them against? Have I missed the posts where people are insisting Leeds are scum and all other fans are angels?

But I bet if anyone could find evidence like that against Leeds and someone called them scum, you'd be all over them defending LUFC? Because I'm certain that no-one has ever been racially abused by Leeds fans have they? If they have, does that make Leeds scum too?

Not at all. I would be appalled about it and would seriously question the direction the club was taking.

However, Sky Sports came to Elland Road twice and found nothing and I can hand on heart say that in 15 years of going up and down the country supporting Leeds United I have only heard a racial comment once. It was met with condemnation from all around him and he was ejected from the ground by stewards before someone else did it for them. That was many years ago at Goodison Park, the player in question was Alex Nyarko.

At Millwall it's a huge problem, it's not just this year, it's every year. And every year we report it and nothing is done. Diouf's complaints were met with contempt from the ref and did you see that stewards pushing him off the pitch. Is that how Millwall deal with racism? Push it down the tunnel? This wasn't an isolated comment was it, he was racially abused 56 times. I can't get my head round that at all.

I remember a comment from Leroy Rosenior in which he said 20,000 Leeds fans were giving him Nazi salutes. What he had actually done is mistaken the Leeds salute for a Nazi salute. It took him 12 years to admit that mistake but he never properly apologised. I met him not so long back, he was doing a speech at a function I was at and I questioned him about it. I wasn't agressive or nasty but I made it clear to him that his comments badly damaged the club and upset alot of people, my old dad was one of the 20,000 he accused that day. He didn't have alot to say about it and refused to apologise before dissapearing behind his minders.

I don't think there is a particular post. It just seems to be a mindset of at least a large number of Leeds fans, that the world is against them, that they suffer from massive injustice (especially after them "recently" being cheated out of the European Cup - you still get cars with stickers saying "Leeds - Champions of Europe"), that they do not get credit for the purity of their football (under Revie) etc etc. And I am writing not as a football fan, who might have an axe to grind against a rival club, but as someone who lives in the area, who finds the paranoia and anger truly puzzling, disturbing and, if in Leeds on match days, positively frightening.

Well we was cheated out of a European Cup, the ref in question was later found to be taking bribes, that's a pretty open and shut case mate. Do a bit of a research. However, the chant we do now is more in jest. For whatever reason it enrages oppositions fans as does the "We're not famous anymore" chant. Those chants seem to bother other fans alot more than, we just find it funny.

What's wrong with Leeds on a match day? Not seen major bother at Elland Road for years. People get intimidated by how loud Leeds fans can be. Especially at away match, we can make 4000 sound like 40,000. People sometimes mistake that for aggression and anger but it's just passionate fans making alot of noise.

No-one on this football thread would deny your right to make your comments "on current events" in football and I think that you do make quite regular postings upon the football thread on matters that concern other clubs than your own club of Leeds United.

The problem usually arises with the regular focusing of your postings upon one particular club. I have gone to the trouble of noting all the postings that you have made on the football thread over the last six months. Would you be surprised to find that there is one particular club that has formed the basis of your postings in that period. I have compiled a percentage table of all the clubs that you have referred to in these postings and at the top of this table, with a vastly high percentage of postings, is a certain club based in North-West England. I will spare your blushes by not publishing my percentage findings.

My lasting memoery of Leeds is during our promotion to the old Div 1 season in 84-85. Them 2-0 up and us coming back to win 5-2 with an Aldridge hat-trick. Lorimer was sent off for a foul on Aldo and at that point Leeds fans decided to dismantle the TV gantry at the Cuckoo Lane end and throw it at our goalie, Steve Hardwick, not caring that there was a bloke at the top of the scaffolding tower with a TV camera...

Leeds may have cleaned up their act in recent years, particualrly in the 00s, but there will always be a fear around Leeds when they visit town. I will also comment that the same fear occurs with Millwall, Swindon and Aldershot.

Many teams have been 'cheated' out of things, but the general attitude of the club and manager will dictate, to an extent, the reaction of the fans.

My old dad tells me some bad stories from the 70's and 80's (and early 90's), saying that he almost stopped following the club because of how bad it's got.

However, things are better now. I think one of the big fears is the numbers we take to away games. I can remember a trip to Yeovil when we took 4,000. They had never seen anything like it and there was a complete Police overkill despite there not being a hint of bother.

Believe me, there is still plenty of idiots that call themselves Leeds United fans but I honestly believe that as a club we don't have the problems with racism that the likes of Millwall and Burnley have.

With the demise of the original Aldershot FC, we were spared from their more "enthusiastic" (this is me being kind) supporters whilst the new club Aldershot Town FC had to work their way up the minor leagues football pyramid from season 1992/3 up to to season 2007/8, when they were promoted from the Conference Premiership to League 2 to start their league career in season 2008/9.

Amazingly, their first game in League 2 was against Accrington Stanley, another club to have hit hard times and had to fight their way back from non-league football into League 2.

As far as policing at the Kassam Stadium goes, it's a category A game and there have been issues in the past...

How long do people think it will be before Peter Odemwingie turns up at the Vatican City to begin negotiations on a deal to become the next Pope?

I also wonder how many Bhoys fans Gigi Buffon has annoyed by saying Parkhead has a 'very British' atmosphere?

They should be condemned, (locked up and keys thrown away if I have my way,) just like the disgraceful chants this time around. No one can possibly defend that.

I remember a comment from Leroy Rosenior in which he said 20,000 Leeds fans were giving him Nazi salutes. What he had actually done is mistaken the Leeds salute for a Nazi salute. But why don't they adopt a different salute if it is easily mistaken for a Nazi salute?

Surely they didn't exist from before the Nazi's.

Did you see the comments on here following the Chris Kirkland incident in which a Leeds fan attacked him.....?

It was all Leeds fans fault that happened...

Is it not, assuming it is the incident I think you are talking about? He claims to be a Leeds fan, so you will all get tarnished with the same brush. This is how it normally goes. Great that the others decided that he has no place amongst them and it should be applauded, but to an outsider it will go down in history as an attack by a Leeds fan.

Two years ago some idiots who claimed to be our fans caused some bother at St Fairy's and the following day it was reported that some Bournemouth fans caused trouble at Southampton. None of us consider those scums to be one of us, yet we have to live with the damage they caused to our reputation.

Sky Sports News came to Elland Road to do a similar racism report, they left with nothing....

May I suggest that they sat in the wrong section? ;)

(Seriously I am not suggesting that racism is rife at Elland Road, and the last time I was there it was an enjoyable experience, however every club has idiots and I don't think even you will deny it.)

Leeds may have cleaned up their act in recent years, particualrly in the 00s, but there will always be a fear around Leeds when they visit town. I will also comment that the same fear occurs with Millwall, Swindon and Aldershot.

True. In many cases it is the memory that will live down and if you have been scarred with an experience, it will take a lot to change an opinion.

We don't tend to have a problem with Millwall (not that I am saying they are angels), and have peaceful co-existence with the rest.

Btw, top of League One. Onwards and upwards!

Conference Premiership

AFC Telford United 1...Hyde 3

These are the type of matches that Hyde must win and they did so quite convincingly tonight.

Anyway, moving on to more mundane matters, It's a big week for Scunthorpe United coming up. Home games against Portsmouth (our game in hand), Crawley and Carlisle in the next week. 5 points minimum is a must if we want to have a decent shot at avoiding relegation to League 2.

Shall we go all Biblical with this posting....

The Angel of the Lord appeared over Scunthorpe and revealed himself to one of our greatly respected forum members and said "Fear not, a star will appear in the sky over Scunthorpe and the three wise Kings will appear bringing gifts who have followed this star".

And it came to pass that these three Kings came to the house of this forum member and said "We have three gifts to bring to Scunthorpe United".

Our forum member asked the first King..."What gift have you brought". The first King said "A 2-1 home win over Portsmouth"

Our forum member asked the second King... "What gift have you brought." The second King said "A 2-1 home win over Crawley Town"

Our forum member asked the third King... "What gift have you brought." The third King said "A 3-1 home win over Carlisle United"

And it came to pass that all these three gifts were placed in the hands of the manager of Scunthorpe United and the Lord saw this and was glad.

Blessed are those who have awaited home wins and have believed, for they shall still reside in League 1 next season.

Here endeth the lesson for the day.

In between the 'man handling/rugby' penalty box wrestling matches (Is this a true reflection of Italian football?), we got a right 'doing' in the Champions League 1st Leg last night. Juventus, rugby tackling aside, were clinical.Poor selection on Efe Ambrose, caught out for 2 of the 3 goals, and clearly 'jet lagged' following winning the Africa Cup of Nations victory with Nigeria.
0-4 in Turin anyone??;)

No match till next Tuesday for the Owls, Millwall away is off. Booked my train tickets down to the rearranged fixture on a Tuesday night in April. I think I'll be safer at the New Den on a Tuesday evening than at Leeds away 4 days later. There is absolutely no way that Leeds v Wednesday will pass off peacefully, the home fans the prime reason. Leeds should have been fined for their fans disgraceful behaviour that night in October. I'll rather save £36 that day and stick it towards Peterborough away, train and admission could be covered with £36!

I had the distinct pleasure of watching that match in the company of some very vocal Juventus supporters in the student pub... and a Celtic supporter who was not very vocal at all

I wonder, if those incidents happened in the Celtic penalty box, would the referee give penalties and possible yellow card to just the defender?? I think he would. I actually thought Juve was lucky not to have a least 3 red cards last night, 2 for rugby tackles in the area and 1 for Pirlo for kicking out at Scott Brown midway through the first half.
Overall 0-3 flattered Juve, but a complete gamble on Ambrose and backfired badly, but we all know if it finished 0-0 we would of said good decision to play Ambrose
