I can imagine this has happened in the past, maybe even with staff, but, why actually do it on the seat, why not the floor, was it night-time and they couldn't see where they were aiming?

If someone Peed on my seat before work i would be a tad unhappy! I could easily i can quite understand why someone might not want to sit in urine dispensed by another for a long period of time!

Trust me -the behaviour of some members of society in "soiling" trains beggers belief -and yes I have (in the past have had to deal practically with some of the unwanted output)

Take for example the former 01:50 from Newcastle to Manchester Airport. Popular for students travelling back to Durham or Darlington having been oot in tha toon for student night, Friday night, house special night, Wednesday night, student grant just come thru night you get the picture. Now bear in mind Newcastle to Durham is approx 12 mins, and thence o darlo a further 15 mins.

Fresh set off Heaton pulls in about 01:15 and 2 cons local door only checks and issues all tickets and everyone is paid up! Prob took in excess of £300 between the two cons. Anyway, crowd is tanked up, they have borded with pizzas, kebabs, fish an chips, greggs pasties (yes, at 1am!) and usually a few minutes late the vomit comet departs.

Toilets blocked, passengers have taken to urinating against the cab door, vomit on the table and walls of 1st class, pizza thrown about in middle carriage, kebab spilt in gangway connection, pizza boxes on seats upturned and sat on so pizzas is stuck to seat...

Trin hasn't yet passed Tyne yard!!!

So 60% of trainload piles off at Durham, train is a mess. Family with kids and couple of suits board at Durham going to Manchester, what is their impression of the train company seeing this shizzhole turn up at 02:10am? Not good!!!! Further 25% of the load leave at darlo, the remainder having passed out from their excesses will probably wake up about Huddersfield sort of area wandering where the flick they are.....

Tpe eventually took it off, start it at York now and offered the path to northern. they declined!

the bizarre thing is, I actually miss working that train....

I travelled on this train many times ;) It was very useful but i bet it was not a pleasent environment for normals or staff. I alos went on a Northern one a couple of times - that was worse!

(pulled a couple of times on that train ;) )

TBF, I've seen it down in Leeds and Manchester exactly the same on TPE late night services. Would probably be a good idea to get some BTP on the case every so often, the good old drunk toss.

I've seen just about everything that can be done on a train, most of the time the smell hits you as soon as you walk through the doors. I'll never forget the smell of red wine and pasta salad I found one night...

Not a deliberate act, however I recall a few years back an HST coming off a depot with a cab door open and it went through a wash plant. When it got to the station the forward driver refused to take it as both seats in the cab were soaking wet. Fitters were called and had to swap the drivers seats around from each power car by physically unbolting them from floor and reattaching them at the other end.

A hefty delay was incurred!

We have them on southern. The 4am to Brighton. Called the vomit comet. Mixture of those who have been out way too long, and those heading for the early flights at Gatwick. Everyone boards with food. When it get safe to pass though the train after purley, its a upside down mess, food all over, other stuff all over. By now it all calms down as most have passed out. just a case of walking them up again at Brighton....but I wanted clapham junction. As for the toilets, not helped by someone who goes in before departure and stays in for 20 mins. And its not just the young, business types, seen some on my train passed out, going up and down all night. Had one on my train went, Vic to three bridges to vic to gatwick to vic to Brighton.

Did once hand over a cardboard box full of sick to night staff at three bridges, dont think they were impressed, but I was happy the customer had used the box and not the floor.

As for food, wasabi noddles at victoria. How many times have people got on the late nights with these, eaten about 1/3. got off at east croydon, and left the rest to stink out the train to worthing, arrival 2.00am. KFC, get on with a big bucket, get off ECR, leave beind half eaten, but all over the floor.

But wasbai noodles are the killer, never seen any eaten all the way, just cartons of smelly food stinking out the train.

I can certainly emphasize with those Brighton services. More than once I've left it a bit fine when catching the 2345 VIC - HGS and so spent most of the night idly Travelcarding around London until it was time to get a BTN - AFK service without waiting for four bloody hours.

I recall one drunk who had the 'bright idea' of waiting until the train doors opened before urinating out of them. Unfortunately for him - and everyone else in the carriage - the doors shut before he finished, resulting in a lot of backsplash.
