Interview Tomorrow, Been On Hold For A Year, Bricking It..

Hi Mate
Step 1. Stop bricking it
Step 2. read back through here so you know what the CBI interview questions are gonna be about and think about your answers as you will be probed in depth about these.
Step 3. Read up on your TOC that you are applying for, routes, traction, key personalities ie who is MD etc
Step 4. Think about all of the reasons why you want to be a train driver and drive for that particular TOC, everyone else will have their own reasons, yours has to be better than theirs
Step 5. Now relax, get an early night, leave with plenty of time to spare in the morning and keep hydrated. oh and make sure you are well presented because first impressions count.

Sounds better not coming from me.. I'm internal so pretty clued up on the company, really don't want to fall so close to the finish...Blimey guv! I remember reading your post about the first part of the psychometric tests over a year ago when I started researching for mine - it was a great help for me back then and i'm now well into my training (despite waiting ages to start myself). I'd assumed that you must have already started! Which TOC are you off to?
NHG66 gives sound advice for the structured interview above - I can't really add much, except to add that I thought about/decided on my answers for the structured interview before I attended. The questions are knocking about on here so you can prepare for them somewhat. This helped me to complete the written part at the beginning of the interview (I think you have 25 minutes to get all your examples down) and as I believe has been said before, make sure they're genuine answers. I got a proper grilling on mine and I have no idea doubt that if they weren't genuine answers it would have become obvious pretty quick!

Hopefully we'll get the chance to re-write/refresh them as it was over 12 months ago since they were completed..

Speaking of ATW I've been on hold for 37 months with them after passing a Medical with them in January 2010 & still no Job Offer or rejection letter. Not interested in the job anymore anyway, but this is what they can be like.
I think that is an individual case as I have found that ATW recruitment a lot better than most for keeping people informed.

Was put on a waiting list 12 months ago after passing the concentration tests, found out today totally out of the blue I'm invited to the Structured interview & if I pass a managers interview tomorrow!!
Bricking it, any tips???
I'm sure you did very well, I get the impression you know a fair bit about ATW and you know your way around this site. This site has lots of information for those who can put in the effort to search for it.

Cheers mate. But of a miss match day for one reason or another, still positive but things are going to take longer than I thought.. Another part down tho
