Definitely no to jam and butter on the same slice. For me the butter detracts from the sweet taste of the jam.

No, jam only on bread. However for some reason both on a scone (or ideally, clotted cream)

Jam and butter on bread is excellent.

So too is cheese and jam on a bagel!

I'd say yes. But I usually have Peanut Butter and Jam (preferably Apricot) on the same piece of bread.

My understanding of that was two pieces of white bread buttered and then jam spread on. That's what my mancunion definition is idk about othe decks of the wood

I think its a pretty standard definition wherever you go. Although, in some poorer areas, like Wythenshawe, you might end up with one slice folded over

When I was younger, I used to have Peanut Butter and Butter, also had Peanut Butter and Chocolate Spread often, which was lovely.

Anyone else have either of those?

I took strawberry jam and Lurpak butter for my snap , and fresh milk in a small plastic pop bottle to make tea with Co-op Red label tea bags out of a well worn mashing can for all my time on the railway.
Sometimes varied the jam for treacle or lemon cheese minus the butter.
Non of this pretend butter that I have to eat these days, and 3 weetabix nowt like it at 03:00hrs on a lousy ballast train.
